mom's wool eater

:clap Yea, it's finally done! I've been working on this thing since January. I meant to get it done by the end of April for my mom's birthday, but that didn't happen...

At 85" across, it fits a queen sized bed. Oh- I did the math, and it looks like I used 31 skeins of yarn (RHSS and Loops and Threads Impeccable), which works out to be about 10,000 yards. Also, I had to stand on a stepstool and hold the camera next to the ceiling in order to get as much of it in the shot as I could. :lol

(ETA: The pattern is by Sarah London. I added a direct link to it in post 30.)

Oh, I really like that. I love the colors. You definitely have more patience than I do. If the project is too large, I tend to get bored with it and put it aside, never to pick it up again.

Great job! And congrats on sticking with it. :)

Wow! That is just gorgeous! LOTS of work! I tried a small square in the wool eater pattern but found it tedious. Congratulations on completing a beautiful and daunting project!

Beautiful! I love your afghan! I bet it did take a long time to make.

I saw a pattern like that in a recent magazine and at only 50 inches it used about 70oz of yarn and I decided against doing that (it would have been expensive to enlarge it).

Fall Comfort Throw in Crochet! Magazine, September 2010. it’s just a new update on the old Catherine’s Wheel afghan
