Great, now I know what to make for March, I was kind of at a loss. I like to plan ahead. I got a TON of yarn for Christmas and now there are sales everywhere, so I'm stocking up. I will have January's stuff in the mail on Monday!! Then I get started on February's!!

oooo hats and scarves, something cheerful, I know the people are needy, but I'm not going to be crying making hats and scarves the way I do making the bereavement blankets. I know I'm a big cry baby, but I can't help it. Thanks for the update darski, I'll be buying some yarn specifically for the hats and scarves.... do they have a color preference?? and do they want them gender neutral?

No they like interesting and special for you to the kids who will be getting them.

They don't like gender neutral. they like guys to be guys and girls to be girls so do what you think would be nice for either or both.

I am planning on using lots of intersting colours for this. Like you said, a fun crochet time.

Well, it looks like, for someone that lives in Houston, I am going to get really good making hats and scarves:lol . It will be fun to start planning with different yarns for this one. I am working with "From the heart of texas" here locally & this month we are doing hats and scarves for a local shelter.

I'm not a big scarf maker and just learning hats but I think I'll have fun trying some patterns I wouldn't have otherwise done and maybe I'll start liking to make them lol.

I have finished some wee little hats for the January charity, the 10 minute preemie ones (takes me a bit longer, too)...I think mine are far too small:

I am working on a few other things and hopefully will be able to get them posted this week and then I can start work on some Feb items.

I have been making preemie hats and also some preemie socks since their tiny legs get so cold. I haven't count them yet...but that is what I did part of New Year's Eve whiloe watching the Packer game..and New Year's Day watching the Badger day. I will post after I tuck all of the ends and get them ready to package. I can't post pictures right now as I left my camera @ home and won't be home before I send them out.

oh darski that is great, something I can use up some of this fun fur I have laying around. I love funfur around the brims of hats, and throughout girly scarves, my daughters all love their scarves I made using fun fur. And last year AC Moore had a sale, and I paid 1.50/ea and bought like 10 things of it, then never used it! so yeah!! :cheer this must be why I bought it :cheer

angel those hats are beautiful. it amazed me how tiny they were too, but they really are the right size.

Thanks for the lovely comments :)

Here is a picture of Ted modelling a hat:

He's quite small but his head is not exactly baby-shaped.

I was working on a little star-afghan but it isn't turning out the way it should, I will have to restart it tonight.

Those hats look great Michelle, I think mine are too small too hopefully they are all right. I like that 10 min pattern even though it took me longer than that too. lol.

Cluless,

The bereavement blankets can really range in size from 12 inch sqaure up to 24 inch square. The plan is that they can wrap the babies in these to present to the parents for some special time. Then the parents could keep the blankets as a "remembrance " along with a few other items the hospital gives them. I am using a lot of the patterns that have been posted here along with onee that are on "The Preemie Project" website.

Thanks to all of you for your help. The parents of these babies are going to so touched.
