I thought it would be interesting to hear how we became members of this great group! :grouphug Like, if you found your way hear through a search engine:computer , a friend:wave , etc . . .

I myself was introduced to the community by a super friend, ZingyZoid, aka Stacy! :hug

I did a search on Crochet Blogs, which turned up a user of the "crochet blogs" webring, which turned up YarnTomato's site, which in turn had the link to crochetville, and thats how i got hooked into the group LOL

Waaaaay back in March I started my blog after finding Pam's crochet blog (no longer on the 'net, I miss it!). I found Donna, Tiff and Kim from links on Pam's blog within minutes and was a very happy woman. Pam started Crochetville but due to personal reasons was unable to continue to administrate this great community, so she handed the reins to Donna, Tiff and myself. :))

I remember CLEARLY... as it was a day of complete Happiness for me!

I was a member of the (now-defunct) CraftyChicks blogring. The person next to me on the ring was Julie (Yarngirl). On her blog she had a link to the 63 Squares Crochetalong - which led me to Donna's site, which led me (eventually) to Crochetville.

When I joined there were a lot fewer members! It's so nice to see this community grow!

Yes, I am proud, Rebecca! :cloud9 I'm so happy to see what this site has become. :)h I wouldn't be able to do it without Julie and Tiff. :grouphug

How I found C'ville...

I'd been thinking about possibly starting a blog :thinking1 for at least a year--probably more--but never did. I wasn't sure what my blog would be about. :thinking2 Would it be just personal day-to-day stuff or about a specific topic?... I hadn't decided. In January/February of 2004 I started thinking it would be about crochet because I had been getting back into crochet after a much-too-long hiatus. I googled for crochet blogs :sherlock but didn't find any, so I figured somebody needed to do one. :P I had no clue people would actually read it. :read :lol By the time I figured out this blogging stuff and had my blog ready to launch in mid-February, Pam (PamCrochets) already had a brand spankin' new crochet blog and Crochetville. As I was setting up my blog, I continued to google for crochet blogs hoping to happen upon some nugget of info. :sherlock That's how I found Pam (and thus Crochetville). A knit blogger :knit had made a post about crochet, Pam left a comment about her new crochet blog, and I found her comment through Google. And the rest is history. :)h

I was here About.com Crochet forum and heard(errr read) someone talking about it. Can't remember who it was but I stumbled here and fell in love with the laid backness of the place.

Also here and everyone's blogs gave me the idea to start mine which has been a good thing.

I've made alot of friends here and am really glad I found this place.

I've been searching far and wide for a great forum like this. I am a member of another forum which has just really made me lose interest in it lately. So I started searching one day under crochet blogs and found By the Hook, which is how I found you guys!

I'm glad I did too, because you all seem so nice and there is so much knowledge and information here.

Oh wow! Lets see, I think someone posted a message over at the crochet-knitting board posting a link to crochetville. At that time, crochetville was just starting out, with Pam, and I lurked for the longest time before fully joining. I was loving all the blogs people posted and finding other blogs through their blog links pages. I've come to love all the wonderful crochet ladies here with all the support, help, and friendship everyone gives. This board continues to grow and stays strong with our new admins after Pam left. I hope Crochetville stays around for a very long time :)h

I joined ezboard again (had an account eons ago!) because they had archives for the Columbine incident. Being the researcher i am, i checked the boards for some of my other hobbies.

They didn't have a decent baking board or vegetarian cooking board, so i tried crochet and to my delight i found a few crochet clubs.

Of them all, Crochetville was the friendliest :grouphug , cleanest looking (as far as html and scripting goes), AND it had crochet as the background!!!

This was by far the best choice! And i'm a proud member! I show everyone the site here at work and my husband finds me on at home freqently hee hee :computer

Thank you all for a very healthy, caring community!

:clap:clap:clap

I was searching for help with my 63 Squares afghan when I came across Donna's site which led me here. I love it here. Love seeing what everyone has done and is doing. Love the ideas floating around. Love the friendliness of the members. I'm pretty happy here. And that's why I brought my friend LabCrazyLand, Kelly into the group.:))
