I didn't line the bag, but if I were to line it I would just cut a circular piece of matching material to match the bottom, and a rectangular piece for the side. Sew these pieces together and then sew them in on the inside. Oh and you would want to do the handles as well...and you should probably do them first so that the ends are hidden.
