Birthday Scarf

I finished a scarf for my good friend's birthday. Yes, it's past the season for scarves (or at least it's supposed to be getting warm - one can hope it will), but she had expressed interest in having one... so of course I made her one.

 

I decided to do something different. Here it is:

I used three different colors of Wool-Ease (2 greens and an off-white) and some Evita yarn (at least I think that's what it was - the label is long gone! )

 

I really liked crocheting the scarf lengthwise. My mom gave me the idea to fringe it so that the fringes are a continuation of the stripes.

 

I'm making myself a plum colored one.

That's gorgeous. I like doing scarves lengthwise, too. It gives it a dynamic look, maybe because it draws the eye up and down the length of the scarf.

My friend did love the scarf. She declared that it made her feel that she looked *stunning*. She wore it the entire two hours that I was at her house.
