Thanks for all the hugs and well wishes for my little grandson. He has 2 stitches in his lip and was pretty miserable most of the day. He finally ate a little dinner and a chocolate cupcake. Then my DD gave him some children's motrin and the antibiotic which seems to have helped since he is better spirits and talking and playing. Hopefully he will sleep good tonight. I managed to finish the pillow covers today so tomorrow I will be able to play all day. Hope everyone has a good night.

Oh, poor little boy! Glad he's doing all right. I'm sure playing with grandma all day tomorrow will help him feel better, too!

I'm not doing real well lately, guys. I've been wanting to quit my job off and on for at least six months now. Once Hell Week began and even now that it's ended, it's been entirely "on". I don't want to be there anymore. I got a very distinct sense today of "You seem to really want to quit. Stop trying to find reasons to deny that. You're allowed to not be happy at your job." But there are about a million reasons why quitting seems like a bad idea, not the least of which is money. We wouldn't be in trouble if we were only on my husband's salary. But we wouldn't be nearly so comfortable right now, either.

At this exact second, I don't know which makes me feel worse - my job, or the fact that apparently I feel so unable to change my budgeting/spending habits that I'm willing (so far) to keep working so I don't have to.

And we've talked before about having another kid, except that now I'm scared because I like things the way they are now and adding a whole nother person is scary and I'm afraid of change. Though in the last two weeks it's been sounding more appealing but I feel bad about THAT too because there are good reasons and bad reasons to want to have a baby, and "So I have an excuse to quit my job and stay home" is a really horrible reason.

The last two days I've even started trying to think of potential "Letting them know I'm leaving" scripts, which scares me both in that the fact that I'm thinking that means I'm really, really not happy here, and also because I've discovered I have no idea how to write that script. And that's just... sad. I pictured myself retiring from work in fifty years, and when they ask at the retirement celebration why I stuck with the company so long me saying "Well, I was just too chicken to quit."

This is pretty much what I meant the other day by saying I hate that nobody can just give you the answers to Life. :(

Ok. </vent>

awww I hear ya viking, could be worse I guess, if you were really depending on that second income....

Do you have something else in mind, some other interest or job you would like to move into??

Sympathies for your dilemmas, but like my grandma used to say, it will all work out in the end, and if it has'nt worked out yet, it ain't the end yet!!

good luck with your "life" decisions!!!!!

Mornin'..................going to dermatologist this morning to get a 'thing' zapped off my face. He did it a few years ago but must not have gotten it all, cause it's back! Just love getting a needle put in my cheek first thing in the morning! Woot!

Have a good day all!

Hope everything went well today, kuddles!!  :hug

I'm sure the cupcake made him feel loads better! I'm glad he's in good spirits. Hopefully getting a good night's sleep and being a day removed from it will make him feel tons better tomorrow!

Holy cow! A hand pump? Yeah, hopefully the insurance will either cover an electric pump (dual electric is best) or at least cover a hospital rental (hospital-grade pumps are awesome). Baby is still the best pump though. They have a stronger suction than any pump out there. He was born on Thursday, right? I think her milk will come in today or tomorrow. Tell her not to expect a lot a first. Babies have super tiny tummies so her milk will come in slowly and adjust to his demands. Its important that once her milk comes in, she stops giving him bottles. This will cue her body on how much milk to make. I know its hard to do because she will have no idea how much he's getting, but as along as he peeing and pooping, he is getting enough. She should only give occasional bottles if the pediatrician wants him to get extra calories. That is when she should give fortified breastmilk 3-4 times a day. And if she is going to give him fortified milk, she needs a better pump! (come on, insurance)  Give her a big hug for me!

Baby was born on Tuesday the 18th. She's still pump pump pumping away and fortifying the formula. The lactation specialist said part of the problem is that his mouth is so tiny and can't fit well, for lack of a better term. We even have trouble fitting the bottle in his little bitty mouth. Good news is he is eating and pooping like a champ! I told her I know he wants to get big and strong, but he'll always be my little peanut.  :manyheart  DH said maybe I shouldn't be calling him that when he leaves for prom!  :lol Fortunately I have a couple of years of snuggles before he starts getting embarrassed by his nickname.

Good morning!

Oh my, just gonna throw out a big group hug, sounds like everyone needs one!  :ghug

My derm appt went fine, he froze it and we'll see how it looks in a few weeks. He was not concerned about it,  but I told him I wanted it off before it took over my face! LOL

Rainy here today, good day to go to work. Why not!

Hugs!

Good morning everyone.

The little guy is up and running this morning, he is still very cautious of his mouth when he talks and eats but other than that seems to be doing pretty good. His lip was bleeding during the night and needs to be cleaned but he won't let me near it so I'll let his mommy handle it when she gets up. Both grandkids have had breakfast and are watching TV, so I am enjoying my coffee and computer for a few minutes. I think we're hanging around home today since the appliance repair man is suppose to come check out the stove burner that is not working right.

Vikingrunnergirl, I know how you're feeling. I've been in that situation before and just had to make myself find another job, I don't like change either but it was worth it in the end.

Dragnlady5, I know this has been a rough time for you, I'm sure you'll be relieved when it's done. Yes, I do think finalizing the divorce on April Fools Day is ironic.

Have a great day everyone.

He was on a ship that was going out for trials,he sent me some nice yellow roses( my favorite)

Quitting my job was one of the hardest things I ever did.  I really thought I would drop dead there.  It was hard to leave the security of that paycheck and trust we would be okay.  On the other hand it was easy because like you iI had grown very unhappy there.  It wasn't so much that I disliked the work itself but the conditions.  It was hard to get the lab results out when you had to stop to answer the phone,do the paper work, and go draw blood because they cut the office help.  It was just so stressful trying to do a good job and get everything done as fast as they wanted.  If you find that answer sheet to life's questions I need a look.  Now we are trying to figure out retirement stuff and moving.

So we are set for our April queen.  I hope our current queen received lots of squares.

Can't remember any good Aoril fool's jokes.

Our tornado season is officially underway.  The weathermen have been on the air since 2pm tracking tornadoes, hail, and storms.  So far they have gone on either side of us.

Hey everyone!  Not too much to say.  I'll just send a big group hug out, I think we all could use it (((hugs)))

owlvamp, love the easter bunny cloths/eggs, I had that egg material too. loved it.

Kuddles, glad it went ok at the drs.

dragnlady5, very ironic about your divorce being on April Fools day, lol.  We went to court for my divorce on my ex's birthday.  I asked him if he liked his present, lol.  He couldn't understand why I had 2 of my best friends show up there to support me, but no one came for him......I can't say anything nice so I won't say anything more......

Viking, (hugs)

bgs, stay safe!

Back to bed for me, over and out, lol.  See you all tomorrow....

That is evil! So funny, though.  :devil If you're only going to do one April Fools, best for it to be a good one!

Oh my lord yes! Yes this! We have too much to do and not enough people to do it with; that was what sparked the week from the devil. About eight thousand fires to put out all at once and things *kept going wrong* so I couldn't deal with the fires. Literally! I mean, not literal fires, the fires were metaphorical. But my ability to deal with them was really shot, and for reasons beyond my control every. Single. Time. Very frustrating.

And unrelatedly, my mom loved the towel and topper you made when she saw it over the weekend! She thought the loop to hold the towel in place was really clever.

Gorgeous square from Cindy. I love it. TY did you get rid of all of the you were trying to find new homes for?

$ lovely squares from Katyallen. I think my favorite is the light grey and white one.  Thanks Bunches

That square is gorgeous! All of them are nice, of course, but that one is perfect for the time of year. Spring is trying to break through and those are some wonderful Easter colors right there. Nice job, Cindy!

I haven't gotten any crocheting done lately because I haven't been feeling well... It's one of those things where my body just hurt to do anything besides lay back in the recliner! Headed to the Minute Clinic today and turns out I have a sinus infection AND a double ear infection. Go big or go home I guess!  :(

I'm finally feeling better this evening with two doses of antibiotics in my system and a good dose of nasal spray so hopefully I'll get a couple squares done or finish the booties I'm making for my nephew. All the patterns involve ties or are too big for his tiny feet (they're only about 2" long) so I'm adjusting a pattern I found online. They kind of look like little Uggs but at least they match the little hat I made him and they're too small for him to kick off.

And finally we're supposed to close on my mom's house on Wednesday, so we're busy trying to get everything out. We're just about done besides some heirloom glass pieces that we wanted to save till last and the big furniture we've got movers coming for on Tuesday. Then it's clean clean clean for closing! I'll be sad to see the house go because she really loved that house, but it's just not feasible to keep it. I hope the new owners take good care of it!! :yes
