Granny squares 2nd annual Happy Birthday Friendship/Comfortghan

Recommended Posts

Does any of you have dog insurance ? Was thinking about it. Before I went to appointment tomorrow . Didn't know if it would be worth me getting. He's an American Bulldog and almost 2 years old.

Would love some squares.

Also, I received 4 very pretty navy blue squares Saturday from ??! There was no return address or name on the package!!

They are from me. I'm sorry I thought I put a note in the package. I hope you liked them.

Love the 12 inch squares too.

Here's a picture of my Tank...the first one is where he thought I was making the tie blanket for him. He loves these blankets.

Ask your vet about Care Credit. Its a special credit card for medical, dental, and veterinarian expenses. Most vets accept it. It makes payments much easier. I had a friend that had insurance on her kitties. It didn't pay off for two of them, but the 3rd did end up being very much worth it.

Spring is coming! Winter can't hold on forever; eventually it must give way.

Just checking in quick. It's been a rough couple of days at work and there's no tunnel end in sight yet, so I've just been feeling kind of quiet and not right. Decided to sit down for some hook therapy today, a project for *my* little guy and not for somebody else! Feeling a little guilty about that, but only a little. :) I finished one gift last night, just need to weave ends in now, and so I only have two that are really hot... One quilt that I've been not finishing for nearly four years now, that I am determined to have done by the July birthday this year, and then a wedding present afghan that can be done, well, whenever really; this friend will understand!  :lol

So I haven't had as much chance to check in and read, but I try every other day or so at least so I don't get too swamped. ;) And I'm thinking of everybody! Ok off to the Any Afghan CAL to FINALLY!!! get to post a completed picture. Just ignore those ends tucked behind the blanket...  :rock

Good morning cshort! And to all of you!

Supposed to pour rain here all day. At least it's not snow! Going to lunch today with two lovely coworkers so that should be fun! Other than that, just lots of input at work to be done......next week most kids in the district are on spring break and my new coworker is 10 month so she will be off too. So a quiet week for me next week!

I finished the test shrug for Sue. Nice and easy. I'm not a shrug person at all.....got a neighbor to put it on so I could snap a pic so I attached it here. She said she is putting it up for sale on ravelry today.

That's about it! Have a lovely day!

Looks like Tank just pulled a muscle. She does not believe it's a ripped ACL because he doesn't lift his leg all the time and leave it there. Just like grann was explaining it. So he is on some pain meds for two weeks and has too be confined and no running and then out on the leash to potty. She said it could be possible that he might have a tiny tear but at this time will check him in two weeks. :) so hopefully all goes well in the next two weeks and have to have no x-rays and he's all better.

Beautiful shrug. I'm with you and not into them but you did a wonderful job.

Glad to hear that it doesn't appear to be serious.

So, how hard is it to give medicine to a dog? I've never had to do it, so I don't know. Cats are haaarrrd!

I've been feeling sick and tired yesterday and today. I think my body is telling me that I over did it this past week, especially this weekend. My OB won't be too happy since I lost 2 lbs. Now I'm back at a 0 pound net gain for this pregnancy.

Also, I had my bank and credit cards stolen when I was at work on Mon night. I left my purse on the steps I was sitting on waiting for my client. I had to cancel everything. It was sweet though because my client looked like he wanted to beat someone up. Guys get so protective of the females around them, especially when the female is pregnant!

LOL! Most cats can't be tricked like that. They'll eat around the pill! I've tried crushing the pill and putting it in tuna. Nope. Its like they know!!!!!! Stinkers. I have to force it down their little gullets. I've also found blowing in the face makes them swallow (usually). Sigh. CATS! I'm always thankful to get a liquid. Its easier.

hi ya all,i give liquids to cats too, so much easier!!  and blowing in the face for pills set way back (i always think Ill choke them) in thier throat does make them swallow, but I prefer liquids for cats, crushable pills for my doggie, we just mix them in with din din, and she never knows it, course they are supposed to be liver flavored, lol.

Nice shrug, that is really pretty, nice job!!

I have spent the morning so far, getting puffies all ready to post out, this week, waiting on two emails, people that I haven't seen here for a while, to see if they are still collecting, then tomorrow, or whenever, I will probably make a po run!

Cindy, question for you, when do you think you are moving and would you prefer then, that people postpone sending you, till if and whn you get moved, so you have less to pack and or worry about???

Nothing else, Im gonna bag up the squares I have sorted, and seal um u p soon, and see what I have left to do on the list!! thanks all,. and enjoy your day!

Mid day check.....thanks for the kudos on the shrug!

Ah I had cats most of my life and they all could somehow not take a pill! They are indeed stinkers!

Rainy day here all day so might as well be at work! I was able to get on facebook but they blocked it so no more checking that! Oh wait, supposed to be working aren't I? Oops!

We have one dog like that named Princess. She is so precious until she has to take medicine. She eats around everything and leaves the pill. I will even cook up meatballs and slice a pocket in it and put the pill. Ive become quite resourceful with her. But Tank just loves cheese so it works every time for him. LOL

Howdy!  Just a quick check in.

Jessica, so glad the squares made it safe and you like them.

Owlvamp, good to here it's nothing big with Tank.  Our dogs have always been easy to give pills to also, well, mostly, lol.

yarn_monkey, keep us posted about the baby.  such good news.

Kuddles, beautiful shrug.

Ok, back to my hooks...I'm working on Easter bunnies for the gd's.  They are coming out cute so far.  Have a wonderful evening all...

Oooppppsss, forgot to wish Imma Freak a belated Happy Birthday!!!!

I'll accept squares through May. Since we will probably be moving the end of June or July, May 31st is a good cut off for sending squares.

lol,and they( Cats) seem to develop secret pockets in their mouth to hid the pills, cause we have found them afterwards on the floor or behind the couch, stinkers

My friend's cat has one of those secret pockets. She'll spit the pill back out later, on the shoe/slipper of whoever gave her the pill. Vengeance!

I'm in pain, ladies. I'll spare you all the details, I'll just reassure you its not baby-related. Its so bad, I'm going to call my doc ASAP tomorrow morning. I hope they'll help me. My PCP doesn't like to see me at all when I'm pregnant, even for non-pregnancy-related issues (I don't understand it). I need a specialist anyway. Maybe they will just pass me along, and make it quick. I'm going to need surgery, and it isn't going to be pleasant. I'm not sure what they'll do with me for now. Oh, but I need something!  Ow!!!!
