  1. Wow, it's gorgeous! Owl, you are amazing to get that all together and edged so quickly, And your design sense is excellent, too; it all looks so well balanced! Haha, I think both the color-corrected and uncorrected color schemes look great! Katie, the last time I was in I didn't see that you got to post - good to hear from you! You had us all worried, you know. I hope things continue to mend smoothly for you!
  2. Better the couch than the dog! I'm working a scarf right now with one 10" and one 13" needle, because the dog ate the other half of each pair. I told her if she eats another one I'm turning her into jerky!
  3. Just dropped two squares off at the post office. I think they said three days for delivery! ????
  4. Ah, I remembered what it was. What's the timeline we'd like to have squares sent to... actually, to owlvamp or Tampa Doll? I'm not clear on if that's been determined yet. So to who, and when?
  5. Sounds like an excellent plan! Count me in for a square or two; I think I still have owl's address in my file but I'll pm if I need to. I'm so glad to hear news, though I wish it had been better (like maybe just a computer melted), though I'm glad it's not worse (hooray for being home!!)! I was going to add something else, but then the dog and cat tore through and deleted my post and the dog kept stealing photos of Little Viking to get my attention, so I'm pretty cranky now.
  6. That is really scary snowbear. I hope he comes out ok. Oh my goodness! She's gotten so big! Just checking in for news... :-/
  7. Afternoon everyone. I keep checking in to see if Katie's posted; I thought it was a little odd that I didn't see a post from her when I was on the other day but I didn't go back any pages so I thought that was it... After reading since then I'm worried now too. If anyone hears from her outside of the forum, you're going to run right here and let us know, right? I hope everything is ok...!
  8. pineknott, I dropped away from posting last year but I'm the same way - I keep this thread in the back of my mind when I'm tempted and it's been a big help with keeping unnecessary purchases down! (It doesn't help that I can't really enter my craft room right now... too full of stuff! ) Don't add me to the list for now because I don't know how often I'll be on to post; just wanted to share that I'm still with you in spirit!
  9. Long time no see, everyone! ^_^ Don't have much time to sit and type anymore, and so reading falls behind as well.... Gosh it's good to see everybody's posts though; doesn't even feel like I've been away that long seeing them.... I wanted to jump on and say belated happy holidays and happy new year, and to give a big thank you to Brenda for the lovely ornament! I was truly touched that you thought of me; thank you so much. We had a huge tree this year (seriously, eight feet wide - I measured - it was great! The dog couldn't fit behind it to chase the cat! ) and the star fit in with the rest of the ornaments just beautifully. Sorry it took so long to get on and say thank you; I kept thinking of it but only when I was away from my computer! Hope everybody had the best holiday possible. We had to leave Santa a note that his cookies and milk were in the microwave to keep them safe from the pets, and Little Viking instructed me to add a post script that he wanted a trampoline for Christmas, and Santa came through! Family over for dinner and at the end of the day it was declared "the best Christmas ever!" (We play PokeGo too, owl - we've been loving all the extra starter spawns for New Year's! We don't usually get a whole lot that's interesting in our area.)
  10. Got some used up last week, but nothing completed, so for me +0
  11. I'm jumping into the thread now! I managed to finish in the positives last year and my goal for this year is to do it again. ^_^ So I started off by donating some spare bits to the library for a sock puppet project they were doing. I gave up two skeins, and 12 balls (I tried to come up with interesting textures and colors, given the project! ^_^) so that puts me atttt.... +16 wtd That's a great start for me!
  12. Hey everyone! I'm sorry I've been missing for so long. We've been busier than ever lately and I just haven't had time to keep up. I have a picture to share! Katie I am so so so sorry. I took this the day these arrived, it's been sitting on my phone judging me all this time. But they are lovely and much appreciated! And, as always, the little guy was very excited to help me open the puffy and examine them all. I have to say that I'm going to be changing my preferences to "not receiving, just sending when I can" for the foreseeable future. I still love you everybody! But life is interfering with yearning right now. And just look at these colors! Aren't they wonderful?
  13. A separate post since I just couldn't switch gears in that one. I got a puffy this week! Thank you, Brenda! Little Viking opened it for me (he always does) and he was more and more delighted with each thing he pulled out. We had to start drawing pictures with the stencils right away, of course, so I got a picture of that along with the whole package! The ornament is absolutely beautiful - I love the colors so much!
  14. Bonsoir, everyone! I just finished catching up since my last visit. We've had so much loss here lately; my heart goes out to each and every one. I admit the children affected me the most... I've lost older family members and it's never easy, but since the moment we found out we were pregnant I have not been able to deal well with bad things happening to children. The poor families.... It's a hard time for so many of us right now. I hope everyone can find some peace.
  15. So excited yesterday - my sewing machine foot pedal finally arrived! Actually, it was taking so long I checked my order email to see if I could find the status. Turned out the mail carrier put it behind our storm door in the front (which we don't use, since there's no airlock for the pets, and it wasn't easily visible when LV checked for packages, which he does fairly regularly), so it had been sitting there for a week while I hand-stitched elastic into a pair of too-big pants. Spent four days doing by hand what took three minutes with the machine on the next pair. And then I had to take both out, because it wasn't enough, and I just did new elastic through the whole casing anyway. Life! Almost the weekend.... everybody have a good Friday tomorrow to lead into it!
  16. My gift afghan has been on hold for a while and now I'm really going to have to hustle to get it finished by Christmas. The completed projects all look so good! I love the little mousie. It's so cute! ^_^
  17. Hey everybody I'm back! Just finished up a skein, though I'll have to buy more tomorrow so it'll cancel out.... WTD +2
  18. Good evening all! I got my bookshelf set up today and I'm starting to get things on it. You can see, gosh, probably a whole eighth more of the floor than you could yesterday! Of course, I've been moving stuff around so much the clear parts are all hidden.... We still have our old house to get rid of, and we were over there this morning working on some things. Guess what I found in the mailbox! Thank you cshort!! ^_^ I wanted to get a picture of the card, too, but I had some "help" with it, so I'm not sure where it's gotten to already. I need to get working on my afghan in a minute, but I just want to say that we've got such a great little guy. He's sweet and caring, and so thoughtful. He's five years old now, and he's so proud of being "grown up"! We're pretty lucky to have him when you get right down to it.
  19. My husband's family used to live in Mt. Sinai, when he was a kid! They're in Port Jefferson now. I found this most intriguing; what sort of changes would you say you're seeing? I definitely wasn't sewing ten years ago so I don't know what was out there then! My sewing machine's foot pedal died, and I basically can barely use it right now (it has an air bulb kind of thing, that I have to poke at to get it to return to starting position every time I stop the machine - made sewing Little Viking's birthday blanket super frustrating!). I ordered a new one from Singer, but it hasn't come yet, and I'm starting to go bonkers. Because of COURSE now all I want to do is sew things! I've started catching up on posts I missed but I've got a long way to go, and I wanted to check in tonight before my computer kicks me off the internet. Our birthday party went really well! Not quite how I planned... I had a lot more games in the wings (I had deliberately overplanned there anyway), but the kids spent a lot of time just running around. I was bummed out that I missed a great photo op when all of them decided to go up in the same tree at the same time... Eight kids up in one of our mimosas! It was a costume party, so everyone was dressed up, including Daddy Viking and me. Since LV wanted Darth Vader this year, Daddy decided to be a Jedi and I was a stormtrooper. One of LV's friends who is also a Star Wars nut was ALSO Darth Vader for Halloween, and the two of them were just about overwhelmed with delight when they realised that our costumes meant they were the boss of me. With party prep and house stuff going on, I've been stalled out on any yarn work for a long time now. I'm making myself get back into it though, because I'll never get my in-law's Christmas afghan finished if I don't! And I really want to have it done for them this year. I just got a new bookshelf for my craft room, so hopefully I'll be able to get it organized enough that it's usable. Since I got it painted and all the stuff put in, almost the entire floor has been covered and there are piles everywhere. Which is great fun when the dog chases the cat into the room, let me tell you. Gosh, I'm not sure what else to say right now... Think I'm just going to sign off. I'll try to catch up more tomorrow!
  20. The eyes give it a perfect Cookie Monster effect. Love it!
  21. Hey everybody! *waves heartily* Just a quick flyby. Sorry I haven't been around; I've been doing a lot of offline reading and we've been trying to make ourselves do house work as well. I finally got my craft room painted at the new place! Now I just have to organise it.... Little Viking's fifth birthday is coming up soon. We're thinking about just having it at our place rather than going out somewhere, and holding it on Halloween so the kids can wear their costumes. So I've got some party planning to do! I'm hoping to get invitations out this week; we'll see!
  22. I can't believe how quickly you finished it, either! @_@
  23. Didn't use anything up, but at least didn't buy new either. WTD +0 YTD +21 (checked my sig!)
