Hi Gang! Boy oh boy, I sure have been having a hard time checking in here lately, lol.  That's because I'm spending way too much time sleeping.  Ugh.  Hopefully I'll get some oomph soon.  I did manage to make some Easter bunnies for my granddaughters for Easter!  They came out soooo cute!  I'll try to get a pic of them tomorrow to show you.  The pattern is super easy and quick and if I could remember the name of it I would give you the link, but that's going to have to wait til tomorrow too, sorry.  Ahh, memory is awful!

Oh, Cindy, great idea about the baby naming pool.  I made a guess.  I'm usually really bad at picking dates, so we'll see, lol.

We'll, I'm fading fast gals.  I'll try to check in sooner tomorrow.  Take care and keep those hooks flying!  ((((hugs))))

oh boy, hi everyone, Im here, finally, my computer seemed to have a temp hiccup, but i figured it out, without panicking too much, just simply cause i have been worn out for a couple days, weather changes, and all that probably and doesn't seem im sleeping too well the last couple of days either, I would swear, it was a full moon or somthing, lol

So, without going into all the detalils, I finally got my passsword protected sign on fixed to accept my account again, and I am back, thought a trip to the Best Buy Genius counter was going to be in order soon, but i figured it out, all by myself, lol I am computer illiterate, and almost called daugther to come and help, but i got it, relatively quickly. I don't know why it hiccuped like that, but I changed my sign in password, haven't tried it out yet, hope it took..

so is everyone having a good weekend so far, lots of things going on with you all, glad tank is better, and just keep doing what the doc tells you to heal that back sandra!

Pineknott, long time no see, how is all your family doing lately.

Kuddles, all i can say is a quick hello, you are so busy!!

Good to hear from you ann, hope you post those pics soon, love to see um.....I may need to make some, for my brunch group soon, if i can

everyone else hello, and how are you all too!!

Well sheesh, that com puter issue sort of stressed me out now, so Im going to take a hot shower, and get the kinks out of me, as i got the kinks out of my computer, lol take care all, and enjoy tomorrow!

GrannieAnnie, I'd love to know where you got the pattern for those squares!!  :manyheart

My sister had her beautiful baby boy on the 18th, which is also our dad's birthday! He got the best present!  :yay  Baby was 18.25 inches long and 4lbs 10oz. He came home on Thursday and he's my little peanut. I love him!! He was 37 weeks so he's happy and healthy (as is my sister) but he's down to about 4lbs even now that he's home. The pediatrician thinks my sister is having trouble with her milk coming in so she has to start supplementing and she'll see a lactation specialist on Monday. We need to get him to a chunky monkey! Right now he's so skinny and all limb!

I rode in the backseat with him to the pediatrician Friday because my sister was worried about him sliding around in the car seat.

Our grandmother got to meet him on Friday. First thing she asked my sister was "Do you have his bags packed??" She swears she's going to steal him. My uncle (who lives with her) said he's moving in with us if she does! LOL!

omgosh, he is sooooooo small!! So precious, what did she name him??? He's a beautiful baby!

He is ITTY BITTY!! My hand in that picture is by no means strangely large, but it just dwarfs him completely! His name is Gavin Everett. The middle name is after our grandfather. If he had been a girl, the middle name was going to be Louise. It's my middle name along with our mom's, grandmother's, and aunt's middle name and our other grandmother's first name.

First things first....your nephew is adorable!!!!  Congrats to all!!!!  He's is such a peanut, but I'm sure once he starts gaining that he'll really take off.   I had trouble with my first son.  He wouldn't nurse, wasn't gaining weight.  I finally had to give in and go with formula which unfortunately he had a lot of allergies to, but he did start gaining.  He's a big strong, wonderful intelligent, caring man today!  :)

Next, you asked about the squares...both patterns are from April Moreland.  The dusty teal one is called Mistletoe and the frosty green one is Spring Fling.  Her website is dishclothdiaries.blogspot.com.  She has wonderful patterns!

Hello everyone!

I've had a couple of busy but fun days with family. Today is starting out a little slower which is why I popped on here to say hello. We are planning to go to a community garage sale today but my daughter is still sleeping and the grandkids are playing so we'll see what happens.

I'll try to pop in again later for more updates.

yarn_monkey, the baby is adorable! Congratulations to your family.

Good morning everyone!

Went to church this morning. Now daughter coming over and I get to be with her and my little man. Didn't get the boys this weekend.

Going to try to FaceTime them in a little while. Miss having them here. It really isn't the same when they aren't here on the weekend. Seems like something is always off.

Off to get something to eat.

C was my tiny munchkin. She came home at 4 lbs 15 oz. She had a really hard time gaining weight that first year. No idea why.

It is very normal for a mother's milk to come in "late" the first time. 4-7 days is not uncommon. It took me 4 days with Y. Make sure she puts him to the breast EVERY TIME he is hungry. Then she can give him a bottle afterward. If she doesn't put him to the breast every time, her body won't be stimulated to produce milk and will take even longer for her milk to come in. If she ends up needing to supplement with formula after her milk comes in just to get him to gain weight, have her pump during his bottle feedings to make sure her milk supply isn't adversely affected. And instead of giving him straight formula, she can add a scoop of formula powder to her breastmilk (this is called "fortifying"; have her look it up). That way, he still gets all of the good stuff from Mommy's milk and still gets the extra calories.  I had to do this with C.

Also, have her look into the website http://kellymom.com/. It is an excellent source of information for breastfeeding moms and will be a lifesaver for her in the months to come!

Thanks, Cindy! I'll definitely pass all of that info along. She was only at 37 weeks when she was induced, so the pediatrician said that might have something to do with it too. She's attempting to breast feed each time, but then she'll give him formula and pumps. Hopefully the lactation specialist will have good things to say tomorrow!

I've been busy trying to finish up (another) afghan for baby Gavin, but I'm also working on squares. I really will get them all out soon, I swear!  :tup

Oh pineknott, that sounds awful. :( What a dreadful situation! Crossing fingers and hoping for the best....

Gavin is an adorable little baby! I had exactly the same thing with our little guy, only about three pounds heavier to start. I never did really well with breastfeeding so he was on both. Pumping did help some. The lactation consultant at our pediatrician's was amazing and was a terrific help. If she does try pumping and has trouble, sometimes switching to a different pump can help - that was what worked for me and let me get *anything*. Still wasn't great though.

I spent the day in NYC yesterday with my mom and sister and her boyfriend. Us women went to see Matilda on Broadway, because the little girl playing Matilda goes to my mom's elementary school and had her for music! It was a really good show; really dark though - I pretty much just cried the whole second act. :D And there was a little boy somewhere to the right of us who got scared and was crying. :( I thought it was probably a good thing that there were people between us blocking the path or I would have charged over; just sad-little-boy-mommy reflex! It was a really good interpretation of the story, I thought. And we waited by the stage door after so my mom could say hi - when Paige saw her she actually squealed; it was so cute. She really did an *excellent* job!

So I didn't get any crocheting done yesterday. No, wait - I did work a star on the bus on the way in. :lol Going to try to get a little done tonight; I have been in the zone lately.

Here's hoping this week is better than last week for everybody - even if your week last week was good! :D
