  1. Oh, she is sooooo beautiful!!!! I plan to do my best to visit much more often this year! Oh boy, you guys are worrying about your birthdays and you're all a bunch of young'uns! I'm going to turn 60 in March! Yikes, were did the years go? Oh, did I tell you? I got to visit my best friend just before Christmas and she had a huge stash of yarn and books from a wonderful lady that she used to care for. Since she doesn't crochet/knit she gave it all to me! Wow! I've been having a blast going thru it all. Toddles for now. I'll be back again soon. That's a promise!
  2. I made a couple for Christmas just by following a simple hat pattern. All I did to change my usual thing is that I took a large hair elastic. You know, the ones that are cloth covered I think so the don't pull your hair out, lol. I can't think of the actual name. Then I attached my yarn by sc to the elastic and filled in all around with sc's. I think it took about 12-24 sc's. After that I just used whatever stitch that I felt like. Since it's been so cold here, I used hdc mostly. I did my usual rounds with increases and kept trying it on my head to see how it fit as I went. I used a b
  3. Happy New Year my dear friends!!!! The day is almost over, but I couldn't let it pass without finally getting my butt on here to say hello to you wonderful people! I miss you all so much and I am going to do my best to visit much more often in 2017. That's a promise! Stay safe and stay warm. No time to read up on all that I've been missing, I'm sure there is a ton, lol. Hugs to all.
  4. Happy New Year Everyone!!! Oh my, has it been a year since I have posted in here? I will hang my head in shame. 2016 was not the best of years for me, but I am not going to look back, only forward and hope for a much better year ahead for myself and everyone else. I want to thank all of you that have continued to send items to me right thru the year. You lifted my spirits and made my days bright just knowing that there were angels like you out there thinking of others and sending "hugs" to them. I received several packages the last week of Dec. and will make arrangements to get them to t
  5. Hello All!!!!! Yes, it's really me! I'm so sorry that it has been so long since I have visited. I really have not been on line much at all. I won't go into detail, but let's just say that the doctors haven't found a miracle cure, lol. I do so appreciate the cards/notes from the wonderful ladies here. It's nice to know that I am thought about and missed. I think of you all so often and I actually have made a few squares during my travel times to/from dr visits. I just need to figure out who they can go to, then get the addresses! I won't even attempt reading all the back pages that I h
  6. Popping in to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! To answer the question ...yes, this project is still active. It is through wonderful folks like you that continue to send things in even when I've not been good at updating or being online. You show that you care and know that I'm doing my best under the circumstances. Thank you...
  7. So sorry that I am this late in answering your question! I am glad that you found out though, Yes, I am still doing this and will continue doing it as long as I am able to. Unfortunately, the need for comfort (as in-there continue to be more survivors every day) is great. My dream is that one day we would not be needed because there would be no more abuse! Wouldn't that be wonderful! Anyway, sorry for the departure, lol. I'd welcome any scarves coming my way. It has slowed down a bit since I haven't been as vocal lately. Thank you for asking.....
  8. Thank you everyone. You are all special and keep me going every day.
  9. Hello my dear friends, I know that it has been quite a while since we have chatted. I'm sure some of you are wondering if this project is still active. The answer is a great big YES! Lol! I want to take this time to thank all of you that have continued to send in scarves, etc during this time when I may have been hard to reach. Some of you know that life has played some jokes on me and my health has decided to give me a run for my money, but I'm giving it my all. Unfortunately that leaves me pretty worn out and tired most days. However, there are days that I receive boxes full of beautif
  10. Thank you so much for sharing, Darski!
  11. Thank you everyone! I was able to have a wonderful day with my family yesterday. Mother Nature even cooperated so that we could have an egg hunt outdoors, lol. That was a big hit with all of the little ones.
  12. Hi all! I don't know that I'll get a chance to get on here tomorrow (actually today, I just saw the time, lol) since we're having my sons, their wives and the grandkids over for brunch! Yippee! I so look forward to seeing them! But I wanted to wish you all a very Happy and Blessed Easter. I hope you all have a very special day. I know that we aren't as active here as we once were, but the scarves are still needed and are accepted, so as they trickle in I'll try to start letting you know again. I'm sorry that I have let that lapse. Adele, I hope you are feeling better! Happy Easte
  13. Oh my goodness Adele, take care of yourself! Bronchitis is so nasty. I hope you have someone to watch over you and pamper you/bring you chicken soup and the like. This ridiculous weather we've been having sure doesn't help the situation. Hubby and I are taking it one day at a time. That's about all we can handle right now. I spent today in the ER getting a temp replacement feeding tube since mine fell out at 4am! Lol, not the way I wanted to spend my day. Now I go for the real one on Mon. Geez, I'm sick of hospitals.
