  1. Oh, she is sooooo beautiful!!!! I plan to do my best to visit much more often this year! Oh boy, you guys are worrying about your birthdays and you're all a bunch of young'uns! I'm going to turn 60 in March! Yikes, were did the years go? Oh, did I tell you? I got to visit my best friend just before Christmas and she had a huge stash of yarn and books from a wonderful lady that she used to care for. Since she doesn't crochet/knit she gave it all to me! Wow! I've been having a blast going thru it all. Toddles for now. I'll be back again soon. That's a promise!
  2. I made a couple for Christmas just by following a simple hat pattern. All I did to change my usual thing is that I took a large hair elastic. You know, the ones that are cloth covered I think so the don't pull your hair out, lol. I can't think of the actual name. Then I attached my yarn by sc to the elastic and filled in all around with sc's. I think it took about 12-24 sc's. After that I just used whatever stitch that I felt like. Since it's been so cold here, I used hdc mostly. I did my usual rounds with increases and kept trying it on my head to see how it fit as I went. I used a bulky yarn for a couple and a worsted weight for one. They all came out really cute and were a big hit! OH! I did one with a 2 inch brim, but the others did not have a brim. I had planned to keep that one for myself, but it ended up as a gift and was the biggest hit of all, lol! Good luck to you! Note: Sorry, I just edited my starting sc numbers. I realized that I was thinking about some towel rings that I had been working on, lol. I'm so sorry for the confusion!
  3. Adorable! Thank you so much for sharing!
  4. Happy New Year my dear friends!!!! The day is almost over, but I couldn't let it pass without finally getting my butt on here to say hello to you wonderful people! I miss you all so much and I am going to do my best to visit much more often in 2017. That's a promise! Stay safe and stay warm. No time to read up on all that I've been missing, I'm sure there is a ton, lol. Hugs to all.
  5. Happy New Year Everyone!!! Oh my, has it been a year since I have posted in here? I will hang my head in shame. 2016 was not the best of years for me, but I am not going to look back, only forward and hope for a much better year ahead for myself and everyone else. I want to thank all of you that have continued to send items to me right thru the year. You lifted my spirits and made my days bright just knowing that there were angels like you out there thinking of others and sending "hugs" to them. I received several packages the last week of Dec. and will make arrangements to get them to the shelter soon. Thank you all so very much. We will continue on in 2017!
  6. Hello All!!!!! Yes, it's really me! I'm so sorry that it has been so long since I have visited. I really have not been on line much at all. I won't go into detail, but let's just say that the doctors haven't found a miracle cure, lol. I do so appreciate the cards/notes from the wonderful ladies here. It's nice to know that I am thought about and missed. I think of you all so often and I actually have made a few squares during my travel times to/from dr visits. I just need to figure out who they can go to, then get the addresses! I won't even attempt reading all the back pages that I have missed. It would take me forever, lol. I hope you are all doing well. Hugs and many blessings to you all. I'll try to visit again soon and spend some time chatting.
  7. Hi All! So sorry that I haven't been on in so long. I fried my computer back at the end of March and it doesn't look hopeful for replacing it for some time. DH has been kind enough to let me use his on occasion, but is not happy about me visiting crocheting sites because he thinks that I will get a virus there. Ehh, whatcha gonna do. I think of you wonderful people all the time. Please take a word of advice from me...don't put your beverages down next to your computer! I had just filled my glass with gingerale and all 16 ounces went on top of my keyboard! Arggg! so many tears....live and learn. Now I am trying to recoup from a springtime cold/flu. Not much crocheting or knitting getting done around here, but I do try to at least do a line or two a night. Time to run. Take care all. Enjoy the warmer weather that promises to be on the way! Hugs to all!
  8. Hi all! Popping in to say a big thank you to Brenda for the beautiful squares that she sent me! I love them.
  9. Hello everyone!!!! Remember me??? I received the most wonderful puffy in the mail yesterday from Carol! Thank you so much for thinking of me. The squares are absolutely gorgeous! I feel so bad that I haven't been able to visit lately. I miss you all so much. I am starting to get some strength back, so fingers crossed that I will be visiting on a regular basis again soon. Hugs to all.
  10. Hello my crocheting friends!!! Remember me? Lol! I couldn't let the day go by without stopping in to say Merry Christmas! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday. Things have been pretty much the same around here, except that i've been trying to squeeze in some holiday presents with my usual crochet/knitting. I thought that I was doing great until one of my DIL's mentioned that her girls would love something that she saw on FB and she would show me on Thanksgiving. Hmmm, ok....yep, the mermaid tails! I had thought about making them for the 4 girls earlier but decided against it, DUH! So, quick as a wink, grammy went to work and made 2, yes, I said 2 mermaid tails. We'll see how it goes over tonight. I'm hoping that I don't have 2 very happy and 2 very disappointed little girls. One of the girls not getting a tail had asked me for a big butterfly. She is getting a butterfly rug. i think that fits the bill, lol. The oldest I'm thinking is 9 and maybe growing out of that stage? She's my crafter and will be getting a fleece blanket to make. I thought we could make it together. Well, now that I've bared my soul to you guys, what do you think, lol? By the way, I miss you all so much! I really hope to be able to start coming on here more often in the new year. I'm praying for more strength/energy. Well, gotta run and finish up before time to party. Merry Christmas!!!!
  11. Popping in to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! To answer the question ...yes, this project is still active. It is through wonderful folks like you that continue to send things in even when I've not been good at updating or being online. You show that you care and know that I'm doing my best under the circumstances. Thank you...
  12. Hello! Surprise! It's me again!!! Don't get used to it, lol! I received a puffy with a scarf and some pretty squares and I was wondering if the wonderful person that sent them was from this group? I didn't recognize the name. I won't give it out just in case she isn't from here, but thank you so much if you are, lol, hope that makes sense to you guys , lol. I have to keep my people safe, so don't give out names to anyone. Fall has arrived here. It sure has been chilly the past few days and the rain has arrived too. I don't know if we are going to get hit by the storm coming up the coast, but I will keep everyone in my prayers. well, hubby just got home so I'm going to go spend some time with him. Have a great weekend all! Take care! OH, and keep those snakes wherever they are! I do not want them around me! LOL!
  13. PM sent
  14. Hi All! It's been awhile, does anyone still remember me? Lol! I see things haven't changed around here. I had a post all ready to go and it disappeared into cyberspace! Grrrr. Oh well, I didn't have too much to say anyway. I have been keeping busy working on some CAL's/KAL's over on Ravelry. I spend at least half my day sleeping (no energy what so ever) and try to get the hooks and needles going when I'm up. I really need to get going on Christmas presents. Hubby and I watched the eclipse the other night. That was awesome. Well my dear friends, I hope that you are all well. I think of all often. I am so sorry that I just can't get in here to spend some time with you all more. Until next time......
  15. Hi All! I had a wonderful surprise in the mail a couple of days ago. Thank you so very much, Sopo! Look at the beautiful squares that she sent me! Aren't they lovely? Wish I could just reach thru the internet and give you a big ole hug, lol. I saw a pic of the doilies your making too, oh, they are beautiful! Great job!!!! Lacey, read your wonderful news! Will keep you in my prayers also. Oh, I saw a wonderful Uncle Sam ghan! I think that was Yarn_Monkey making it? Fantastic!!!! And is it bgs that made all those wonderful hats, etc for charity? WooHoo! You've been busy!!!! Katie, oh girl, what can I say? I hope you feel better soon. Didn't I tell you no more boo boo's for a while, lol! (((hugs))) Ok, sorry if I missed any other ills/boo boo's. I had to read quickly. Love you guys and miss you. Hope to be back soon. (I know, that's what I keep saying, blah, blah, blah, lol) Here's my beautiful squares from sopo!
