Ripe Wheat doily

Inspired by jura2908's version of this doily, I decided to give Ripe Wheat a try. I love this pattern. I used Royale #10 in 'Cream' & it came out to about 18" across.

I realize I'm bringing up an older thread here, but Mimi, this is wonderful. Just yesterday I snagged this pattern off the net, instantly falling in love with it. The harvest abundance theme is so appropriate for a dining room table so... I'm wondering if you've thought of making this into a tablecloth? I've done a little thread crochet but nothing like so many of you talented ladies have. This would no doubt need a secondary block to span the areas between the wheat circles. Has anyone made that kind of transition, from a doiley to tablecloth? Where did you discover or how did you decide to use the secondary block?
