  1. You're Welcome! Post pics, I would love to see what others make from this.
  2. Hi Sorry, I haven't been on in quite awhile. I made up that pattern using two rows of (122) double crochet and then one row of (40) cable stitch. I used the cable stitch found in a booklet I bought at Wal-Mart (I'm sure you can get it other places), Leisure Arts Little Books #75009 Beginners’s Guide Crochet Stitches & Easy Projects. I have searched the web for the cable stitch I used and I can’t find it anywhere. I will try to explain how to do the stitch… sc in first stitch, ch 3, skip 2 sc, sc in next st, turn, sc in 3 chs, sl st in sc made before the ch 3, turn, work behind cable sc in 2 skipped sc, repeat across row, sc in last sc. If you have any other questions, just ask, I will try to answer them in a more timely manner.
  3. Michele, I'm so sorry for your loss. Prayers to you and your family.
  4. I am making this afghan for my son's best friend's first baby boy due any day now, and I just don't know what border to put on this. Has anyone made an afghan using this stitch and if so what border did you use? Thanks for your help.
  5. Here is a link to The Prayer Shawl Ministry which has a couple of patterns.

  13. I entered for the first time last year, and when I picked up my entry there was nothing from the judges either. I went through several forums and several threads and made myself a list of everything that I could find on what the judges were looking for to give me a guideline on what to expect. Good Luck.
  14. OHMYGOSH!!! You have better control than I do! I don't think I could have passed it up, even if it meant going into the negative! GOOD FOR YOU!!!
  15. WOW, Great afghan! What a great way to use up all those scraps laying around! Thanks for sharing the story.
  16. You are preaching to the choir, sister! Murphy's Law sits right on my shoulder!!! I can't even tell you how many times this has happened to me. No matter how many times I check and double check, it's not until after I've done a couple of rows or rounds that I find a mistake, and have to FROG!!!
  17. I'm right there with you... I'm using this CAL as a personal goal, not a competition.
  18. Compared to others here I have a very small stash {yarn = 6 drawers, 20" x 7" x 12"; thread = 1 large storage tub}, but my husband acts like I have stockpiled more than my fair share, he would love for it to be gone! But like you said, even if I used it all up today, I would never even be close to some of these top scores!
  19. I'm interested in knowing this answer too. I am not the fastest crocheter in the world, I start a new job in two days, and I don't know if I will be adding a score each week. I really wanted to join this CAL so I would have motivation to use up what I have before going out to buy more. There is NO way I will ever be the highest scoring, which is fine with me, my goal is to just stay in the POSITIVE!
  20. I did it again today! I finished up another skein of on my yo-yo afghan! +2 more!
  21. I finished up another skein on my yo-yo afghan! +2 I went to the thrift store, the bad news is they didn't have any yarn ; the good news is I didn't buy any yarn to negatively affect my score .
  22. OHMYGOSH, this is sooo amazing!!! TFS
