This is sooo cool. Do you have to use wool or can you dye cotton? would a crock pot work?

Crochetbug -- that is beautiful -- my favorite shade of blue! What a novel idea to do with some sort of ho-hum yarn -- now it is anything but ho-hum! Electric Blue!!!! I love it!! Does the color stay in well after it is set? Your example really shows how important color is to a project. I would just have scrolled on through seeing the first tote, but after your color electrifying it, I HAVE to comment! It is just too special to not comment. :)

So pretty. But I have this question - if kool aid makes the wool that bright what does it do to your stomache?? :)

LOL -- good question! I know what it does to our tongues! Kids always love the brightest Koolaid for just that reason -- the more colorful the better!

When you drink too much kool-aid it can change the color of your urine. The combination of the color and citric acid in Kool Aid is what causes it to stain carpets so nicely when kids spill.

For dying cotton, it's better to use fabric dye ie Rit, etc. because the fibers are harder to dye and don't hold color as well as wool.
