Small Talk Shawl

This is a pattern I found on Ravelry. I made it for an elderly (92 years old) widow. Her birthday is this month and it will be the first without her dear husband so I wanted to do something for her. I splurged on Lornas Laces Pearl (silk and bamboo blend) which I found on sale. It's difficult to tell the yarn color, but it's shades of purple, blue and mauve and so soft. The yarn ran out so I was not able to do the edging which was why I chose the pattern in the first place - so I was so disappointed, but I'm still happy with the shawl.
