Our House Part Two

Good morning!

Linda, I am praying for John ( and Rosie/Melissa) I'm sure they are beside themselves with worry- many hugs for you too!!!!!

Marlene- Glad to hear that you are not coughing as much anymore. That can be so draining!

I read through all the posts, but didn't take notes. I do have to go into work this afternoon for a few hours and then I am going to babysit for Ryan. This morning I'm trying to get everything done that has to get done, basic cleaning and laundry before heading out to work. I want tomorrow to be a totally relaxing day.

I worked on my knitting again last night. I cast off a swatch that I will use as a coaster because the dishcloth I started on metal needles which I don't like using. I wanted to continue with the dishcloth using the bamboo needles that had another practice swatch. So a coaster it became!

Judy- I'm afraid if I don't practice at least a little bit every day, I'll forget how to knit- LOL

Off to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer. Have a good day, one and all!

Good morning, my friends...

Linda, everytime I woke up during the night I thought about John and Rosie....and said more prayers. It's just not right that he should be suffering like this....:(

Been making baby/preemie hats and am looking forward to surprising my nurse friend with a pile of them....

Good morning. Cold here today, but looks like it might be nice. At any rate the sun is starting to rise. Today I was up at 5. Not sure what this is about, when I have to work, I drag myself out of bed, and when I'm off I wake up at 4:30 or 5. Oh well, I guess I don't need as much sleep as I like to think I do!

Dinner out with our friends was really nice. They live about an hour from us now, and we don't see them often. When we do though, it's just like we see them every week.

I too am really worried about John. He and Rosie feel like members of the house family. Continued prayers for him and those who care for him.

Joanne, my knitting is finally at the point where I can leave it for weeks and easily pick it back up again. I am still very slow, but I don't think that is going to change. I also prefer bamboo needles, but I only have a few pairs. I got all my moms needles and she had a few sets of needles in her collection that had originally belonged to her mother. They are pale gray lightweight metal and came from the Netherlands, and they are also really nice to use. I searched for them online once, but all my search turned up was some used ones on eBay, so my guess is that they are no longer made. At any rate, I have about 20 pairs of knitting needles, thanks to my mom, so I only buy new bamboo ones if I get them on sale or with a coupon. I am still working on a knit baby sweater that I started in November and yesterday I started a granny cloth. Sometimes I like mindless knitting and those dishcloths are certainly mindless. Have fun with Ryan this afternoon. Last night my friend said that if she would have known how much fun grandchildren were, she would have had them first!

Judy, I seem to remember a time when you said you couldn't make hats, and now look at you! I love to make hats, so many possibilities, and such a good way to use up leftover yarn.

Marlene, glad you are starting to feel a little better. Glad that daisy is adjusting Sewell. Of course she is with her people, that's pretty important to dogs. When dd comes to Texas will she be close enough to you for you to see her? If so, too bad Maya couldn't come visit you for a few days. It's good she will only be gone s few days.

Mary, are you seeing the boys this weekend? How are things going for your mom?

Sherri, hope you have a good weekend off, you need some downtime after all the work busyness.

Tab, continued prayers and good thoughts for all you are going through. I seem to remember that Ken had a bone marrow transplant. (I could be wrong about that). What sort of implications does this relapse have in regards to that?

Val, in regards to knitting are you referring to the Learn to Knit book? Knitting is actually pretty well explained in that book, so between that and your knitting friend, you should be knitting away in no time.

Marisa, what are you up to this weekend. I'm sure you have all sorts of plans, since you always keep so busy. Any crafting going on?

Hi to everyone else. Hope you have a good weekend.

Cindy, it sounds like you have friends like ours - when we get together it's as if no time at all has passed.

And, yes, I remember what a hard time I had working in the round! The pattern for the purple hat has stitch counts at the end of the rows - which is what I need!

I also began a tiny preemie hat using this easy and versatile pattern. I couldn't get a link to work (am using my netbook) so just cut and pasted.

Good morning, everyone. Haven't talked to Rosie, Andrea, or Melissa yet today. Doctors tend to be later making rounds on the weekend, so I'll wait a bit before calling. Rosie made the comment earlier in the week that she knew that John would hate this and she's right, he would. But he did consent to the intubation, so it's hard to know where he'd be now. I just keep praying that God's will be done.

Good morning!

Linda, I am praying for John ( and Rosie/Melissa/Andrea) I'm sure they are beside themselves with worry- many hugs for you too!!!!!

They are indeed.

I read through all the posts, but didn't take notes. I do have to go into work this afternoon for a few hours and then I am going to babysit for Ryan.

I'm glad it's just for a few hours and that you get the reward of seeing Ryan afterward. :manyheart

This morning I'm trying to get everything done that has to get done, basic cleaning and laundry before heading out to work. I want tomorrow to be a totally relaxing day.

Oh, yeah! :devil The games tomorrow should be good!

I worked on my knitting again last night. I cast off a swatch that I will use as a coaster because the dishcloth I started on metal needles which I don't like using. I wanted to continue with the dishcloth using the bamboo needles that had another practice swatch. So a coaster it became!

Great idea.

Judy- I'm afraid if I don't practice at least a little bit every day, I'll forget how to knit- LOL

Once you've got it solidly down in your head and fingers that won't be necessary.

Off to move the clothes from the washer to the dryer. Have a good day, one and all!

Have a great day!

Good morning, my friends...

Linda, everytime I woke up during the night I thought about John and Rosie....and said more prayers. It's just not right that he should be suffering like this....:(

So true. This has turned into a life-threatening thing in a hurry. With all the antibiotic resistant bugs around the infection could turn out to be the straw that breaks the camel's back or at least determines the ultimate outcome.

Been making baby/preemie hats and am looking forward to surprising my nurse friend with a pile of them....

Oh, she'll be delighted. :clap :clap :clap

Maybe it's because you get to do whatever you want on your days off and your body says let me at it!

Dinner out with our friends was really nice. They live about an hour from us now, and we don't see them often. When we do though, it's just like we see them every week.

It's great having friends like that.

Sounds like you have some very special ones in your collection.

Have fun with Ryan this afternoon. Last night my friend said that if she would have known how much fun grandchildren were, she would have had them first!

Love it!!! :rofl :rofl :rofl Of course, you really have to have had the kids in between to really appreciate the grandchildren to the fullest.

Sherri, hope you have a good weekend off, you need some downtime after all the work busyness.

Ditto.

Tammy, continued prayers and good thoughts for all you are going through. I seem to remember that Ken had a bone marrow transplant. (I could be wrong about that). What sort of implications does this relapse have in regards to that?

Prayers for all of you, Tammy.

Good morning housemates :hi

Oh Linda :hug :hug :hug continued prayers for John, Rosie, the girls, and you :hug

The patient I had last night fixed my Quick Books :clap:yay She checked quite a few things and fixed me up. It wasn't quick, but I'm so relieved! She's a cash patient so as payment for her services to me, her next treatment is on me :yes She also talked me through what she was doing so that if I come up with something like that again I'll have an idea of where to start :lol

I had a patient this morning and just had to mess around with the office software to figure out his billing because every time I created the electronic bill it would tell me that a portion was not included :think BUT, lo and behold I got that figured out and taken care of too :yay

Yesterday was Ingrid's birthday and we're all going out tonight....I think her choice is the casino :yay:lol One of Steph's co-workers is coming to Steph's house to babysit the kids.....5 of them :lol But they're all good and generally play well together. It'll be Averie and Sloan, the babysitters daughter and 2 others that belong to a couple coming with us....the little girl dances with Averie and they are good kids as well so I don't think there will be any problems :xfin

I guess that's about it for now. I probably won't be back until Monday! I know it's a holiday, but I'll probably come in anyways :shrug But, you never know :lol

Hi House. :)

Tammy ~ Thinking of you as you go to your Aunt's service. I was so sorry to read about Ken's chemo...you all are so strong and I just know he will be okay. :hug

Valerie ~ How fun to have a neighbor that can help you with the knitting! Hopefully, we'll have a quiet weekend. I still need to put away some Christmas things...they're in the guest room upstairs. :blush Out of sight, out of mind. :lol

Marisa ~ What a relief to have QBs working again! We used it in our company years ago and I hated it...my mind just wouldn't "get it." Have fun tonight!

Judy ~ Great pattern! Looking forward to pictures. :)

Marlene ~ It was so good to read that you are crocheting again! I hope your cold/cough are gone soon. :manyheart

Cindy ~ Your evening with friends sounds so nice. My mom is doing okay - the physical therapists are wonderful with her and are amazed at how strong she is. We may see the little ones tomorrow! When is your DD's due date? :c9

Linda ~ Thank you for giving us updates.:hug Lots of positive thoughts and prayers are coming from all of us! :manyheart

Time to get busy again...my Santas need to be packed away. ;) I planned to work outside, but even though it will be in the 60's, the wind is really strong and chilly. Hmmm, crochet time later. :hook

Marisa, I'm so glad you got that billing software figured out. Enjoy the weekend!!

Val, I still have the Learn to Knit book, too, and have hopes I'll get back into it. I do have a hard time figuring out the instructions and sometimes have to get on YouTube to see what I missed. Good luck!

HI! I just talked to Rosie. John had a bad night last night. At one point his temp went up to 105* and his BP hit 200. They finally got both down, but had to put him back on 100% oxygen and full respirator. They've paralzed him so he won't fight it. And the night nurse was not up to caring for him. Rosie finally called the charge nurse and she spent two hours in there with them helping and guiding her. When she left to go home, she arranged for two other nurses to be assisting and guiding John's nurse and swore that that nurse will not will NOT be caring for him again.

On a good note, the drains are working well and the swelling in his neck is down. The pulmonologist put a camera down the ET tube this morning to check out John's lungs and they are FINE! Yay!

The doctor this morning patted Rosie's should and said that this is going to take a long time. She is frazzled beyond belief. She sends lots of thanks for all your concern and prayers.

Love you all! :ghug

It's been way too long since I posted any pictures! The blue one (RH Soft-Mid-Blue) was started in the fall and finished early this month. The other one (Vanna's Pearl Mist) was started and finished last week. :) I want to finish at least one more and they will go to grannyannie.

Quick stop in and then will BBL to read all the posts.

Just wanted to let everyone know in case they didn't see it that the Ville will be down on Tuesday 1-22 for 2-3 days since they are upgrading their software. Amy posted a thread and it's on the big header on the forum.

Off to get coffee and then I'll BBL!

Hi Ladies,

Judy, Thanks for the link to Bev's hats.

Joanne, Glad you were rewarded with babysitting Ryan after work yesterday.

Cindy, DD won't be near us. But if Maya could of come we would of gone to get her. She said she knows one night they will be in training until 8. If she is out early one day and knows in advance she is going to call some friends who are an hour away for a dinner date.

I have one of my Dad's cousins knitting needle collection. This year I brought mine down here to leave in case I decide one day to knit.

Marisa, Glad your patient could get your Quick Books fixed for you.

Linda, Sorry to hear about John's setback. Continuing prayers for John and all of you.

Mary, Pretty scarves! Thanks for the links.

DD is flying out this afternoon from her airport to Chicago to Dallas. Not sure if there is a stop in between or not she didn't say. It's snowing and there is lake effect snow for DS to travel in today. He took the kids to Chicago. Maya is staying with DD's friend Liz until DS picks her up tonight. Liz is taking her to the airport.

I worked a puzzle yesterday. It's Time Square in New York. It was 750 pieces and fit perfectly on the table.

It's suppose to be 70 today so think I'll sit outside for awhile. Hope everyone has a nice day!

Marlene ~ Oh, I'm so glad you're having some warmer weather! Enjoy!

It's going to be hard not jumping on here for a few days starting Tuesday. I'm not on facebook, but have bookmarked the blog address. :)

Back to work, so I can crochet this afternoon. :hook
