ADMIN NOTE FROM AMY: This thread is so big, that we are closing it to new posts. Hopefully, the new thread will load much faster for everyone.

Hi guys

We are getting a huge number of posts again, which makes the loading and posting time probably more sluggish ,so we will be doing a revamp again, and archiving another huge chunk of posts into the archive area above on the main CAL boards .

So if you have a comment about previous discussions, or want to add something new, that is fine !
We'll just be trying to tie up some loose ends here to make things run better.
None of our posts are lost, they will all be in archives,so if you ever have 6 month's time and want some reading material, it's all there for you !

A special thank you to Amy :manyheartfor allowing us to gab to our heart's content ,and to clean up the place once in awhile so it continues to run smoothly !

Julie- Work was good- I'm going to miss working with this group of people when the project comes to an end. It's so great to work with a group that has the same work ethic!

I work with someone who is from Bermuda- I'm going to have to ask him why the water is so beautiful there- I have been there twice- many years ago- my HS senior class trip was to Bermuda -and I earned every penny of that trip! We had so much fun. I went back with first DH when I was pregnant with my oldest and she is 31 now!! I could sure go back there- it is THAT beautiful!

The weather today sure had me thinking of taking a walk along the beach- spring was definitely in the air---but since it IS only February- I think we are being teased!

Kim's doctor visit went well. They were very pleased with how she looked and how her chest sounded. They did order a repeat chest xray to make sure how the one lung was clearing up. That was a bit of an ordeal, but it always is. We both ended up getting haircuts, so we're set for a while now.

Have a good evening. :manyheart

If you could have any place in the world all to yourself for 24 hours, where would it be ?

:think

Hawaii......beginning with watching the sun rise, warm sand on my toes, the sun on my face, the sun beaming off the water making it glisten, a nice cold drink, ending with a sunset. *daydreams*

God evening everyone. Busy day here!

Mary I used size 5 thread and a C hook for the doily.

Joanne, I am always scheduled to work 8 hours. I will work 12 tomorrow if they need me, (and I think they will), and I'm having a good time. My interest in making extra money is pretty slim. I am not at all interested in having more possessions. As long as I can afford a little yarn and some fabric and other craft supplies here and there, I'm good.

Last time I was part of a thread that was archived, the discussion just went on as usual in the same thread, the thread was just a lot shorter!

Linda, glad Kim's doctor visit went well.

As for the colors of the ocean in various places, I've red that it has to do with many factors, including plant and animal life, light refraction and other factors.

Hello All. Sorry I dropped off for a couple days......just busy. Hubby is working 6 days straight so I am exhausted. He works and i'm exhausted. :lol He did take me to the bagel cafe today before work & that was nice. :manyheart I have my grades up to an A- currently and I have one more week left after this week. Then onto Nutrition and health diseases:pathology. Those sound much better....I am excited to start them.

I have been worrying about not being able to work after graduation....I still don't know how to code & no other coding classes. They taught us all about health insurances, privacy, etc but not actually the process of coding. We have learned about coding, but not actually doing it just what is behind the process. I am feeling like this is going to be a waste. What am I going to do? I am about $20, 000 in debt now with not a glimmer of hope finding employment. UGH!

Anywhoo, I am happy to be in here seeing all of the chatter.....I miss it so much.....I really need to force myself to get in here more often I just get beat with the depression somedays with not much fight left.

Judy~Have a great time at the book club meeting.

Dusti~I hope you are enjoying your vacation.

Julie~I hope they figure out what they need to figure out to get you on the right track to feeling normal again.

Joanne, Linda, Mary & Everyone else~Howdy Friends!! I hope all is well!!

The home of my dreams (which is actually on the market right now) where I could sit in a recliner and watch the snow fall out on the forest while having a beautiful fire going and soft music in the background with a Christmas tree behind me. Of course I would have my :crocheting nearby to work on. :P

The other place would be the room at the Stanley hotel in Estes Park, Colorado where Stephen King wrote the book 'The Shining'. I would absolutely love that.

It is suppose to drop back into freezing temps Saturday. UGH!! I don't work, but we are suppose to go out on Sunday (his day off) and it'de figure it's suppose to be the coldest day with a high of 30. BLAH!!

And boy do I wish I could be there with Dusti right NOW! :yes

Good evening ladies :hi

Mary was off today, but work went rather smoothly and quickly. I hung back and didn't help the other receptionist out at all really. I decided this would be a good 'test' for next month when me and Mary are BOTH off for a trip to Pittsburgh to celebrate St. Patty's Day :yay

I think I might make the 9 patch that Joanne is making :think I remember her saying it was easy and pretty mindless, so that's what I'm thinking and I'll probably border each square before joining :think

As for all the marriage talk. I was engaged once, never married nor have I ever lived with a significant other. I can say that when I do get married, he will be marrying my family so like them or not, will need to be able to get along with them at the very least. I am very close to my family as you all know. My family is always accepting, even when they don't like the person we choose. Apparently they weren't crazy about my ex-fiance, but of course I never knew that until after it was over :think Now my SIL's family is a little on the weird side and although I don't look to be with them, I don't mind it either. She was never really close with them and is actually much closer with us :eek To the point that I was her maid of honor in the wedding (and she has 2 sisters!) My parents really are a breed all of their own :yes And let me tell ya, if it wasn't for my SIL, we'd never know anything about my wonderful nephews and niece :lol My sister is not married, but her and her bf bought a house together last year (well, it's only in my sister's name but they split EVERYTHING....she's a smart cookie) anyway, his whole family is awesome as well! Since the first time I met them, they are much like my family...very welcoming to everyone. I felt very comfortable in their home and now I even head down to vacation with them when they go (my mom came too last year). So, I can say we've been VERY lucky in that department.

Now, back to my parents, my nanny (mom's mom) HATED my father!!!! He had a head full of hair and played guitar in a band. They grew up about a block away from each other and my dad went there EVERY day and he got kicked out EVERY day, but he kept on going back. Let's just say that as long as I can remember....he's been her favorite (even over her own boys) :rofl

I agree with Faile in that it really depends on the person to determine if family makes a difference or not :think

Well, on that note, I have to check in with another thread or 2 before I hit the couch and start my american idol :D

Joanne

WOW,a trip to Bermuda for a senior trip ? Holy smokes ! We went down to the Dippy Whip and got a large ice cream cone .

Linda

Glad your day was ok,and you got a new hairdo too ! Get some rest, you are probably worn out .

Hi Cindy

Thanks for the explanation about the beach water colors . Glad your day went well and are home for some rest .

Marisa

Sounds like you have a very tight family, which is good ! You've got a good head on your shoulders so I'm sure you will be choosy and pick someone who is worthy of you .

Shannon

Your dream house sounds so nice ! And you must not be afraid of ghosts if you wanna stay in that spooky hotel by yourself !!

Tab-

Thanks for jumping in. I know it's hard ...keep on trying if you can.It gets easier if you make it a daily routine, then you miss it if you dont stop in !

When are your classes actually finished ,and is this school one that helps the graduates find a job ? I know some of them actually do that, they help with placing you in a job, making up your resume to pass out , etc... so dont give up before you even try ! Maybe you could scout around ahead of time to see what is out there to get your foot in the door .

Julie- I went to an all girls Catholic HS- and in retrospect, it was really kind of neat that we went to Bermuda for our senior trip (and even more neat that my parents let me go). There were tons of chaperones- lots of teachers and nuns went along (who could blame them for wanting to chaperone this trip?) We had such a great time!!!

I sewed the blocks together on the nine-patch-so just have ends to weave in and the border.

See you in the AM!

Hi, everyone! You can keep on posting here, just as if nothing ever happened.

The only thing is, to see posts older than those posted a little earlier this evening, you'll have to go back to Our House Part One. That thread is now closed, so you'll need to post in this one. But you can still find all the old posts over there.

Hopefully, this thread will now load much faster for those of you with slower connections, and it will be faster to add or edit posts.

After a day or two, you probably won't even notice that it's been split.

Enjoy!! :hook

Thanks for 'cleaning our house' Amy :hug :hug :lol

Wow, Joanne, we didn't even have a senior trip!! :( We had a senior lunch at a local catering facility one day, but that's about it :lol I guess graduation with 660 has it limitations :think I did go to France right after senior year, which was through the school, but it wasn't a senior trip. They ran the trip every 3-4 years and was available to the students taking French. One of the reasons I chose French :lol We only had the option of French or Spanish. In retrospect, Spanish would have been more beneficial, but I'm still glad I went with French :yes

Julie - I start to wonder if I'll ever get married :think Maybe one day.....the hard part is meeting someone that's not some sort of crazy :rofl

Cindy - get a good night's rest

Good night housemates :c9

Morning all

Joanne

No worries about your avatar ! I forgot a few of you just changed yours to baseball teams ,so that is fine.It reminds us of summer,so that's what counts .

I gotta ask if you guys were able to "break loose" from the nuns long enough to have a girls gone wild graduation party ? We had nothing, no dinner ,just a graduation on the football field .

Our nursing graduation was nicer, then we had a catered sort of dinner with CAKE . :D

LeAnna

All our posts are right up above in archives.None are missing. It was just easier to cut this way down again . Amy asked me wherre to cut ,so I told her to trim it down a lot, that way we have lots of space to "grow " again .

That may be why we had trouble occasionally in here with the boards being sluggish . It'll be fine,we will be up in the hundreds, then thousands before we know it .

Marisa

If you are meant to be married, it'll happen. You are such a cute girl with a great personality . I'll betcha if you came to OUR town, I could have you booked up with a new guy for at least every day for a month. Hope you don't mind if a few have some missing teeth, have conversations continually, whether anyone is in the vicinity with them, have a bumper sticker that says REDNECK AND PROUD OF IT ...

We might have hillbillies here, but lots of them are real nice . :yes

Amy

Thanks for cleaning up our boards again ! We appreciate it .:)

If you could bring back one deceased famous person ,to make one final performance that you got to see ( singer, actor, sports person) ,who would you choose ?

I think I'd have to have a 2-person answer : The Beatles ,when they appeared on Ed Sullivan way back in the early 60's . I remember seeing it on tv,but was really young. Would like to be one of those screaming girls out in the audience ! :D
