simple doiley

This is a little doiley I made as a gift. Usually, I love intricate thread crochet, but I had to make this in a hurry, so chose a simple pattern.

caitlinsmom - the pattern is from crochet pattern central, for some reason I am not able to get on to that site right now,(just tried twice), so I can't give you the link.If you go to the doilies category, it is the shaded pink and lavender doiley. It is very pretty in the colours given in the pattern, but I made it in white because the person I made it for is moving house, and white is a safe colour for an item of home decor when you have no idea of the colour scheme.

Thanks for the kind comments. I used the word "simple" to describe it because it does not involve complicated and time-consuming techniques,and is quickly made. Now, something with bullion stitches or Irish crochet - I wouldn't call that simple. I love complicated, but sometimes you need to work to a deadline, and that's when "simple" designs come into their own.
