Massive headache here too, have had it all day. Not sure what the scoop is, but it has inhibited me from getting much of anything accomplished. I planned on working on orders & updating some of my older patterns to match the ones I've published lately. One pattern got updated and that's as far as I have gotten. I am going to get some sleep tonight & try again tomorrow!

Hey all!  Late checking in, but they let me go home today and I don't have to be back until Monday.   I am going to have a better day now, hated being at work when you really have nothing to do there, it is beautiful outside and it's your birthday!  Yes!  I am 29 again today!!! LOL!!!!  Guess since I am home, I will do some cleaning and organizing, and crochet some more!!!  Gotta finish my rug, as it is almost done, and work on my squares for my "secret" square!!! LOLOL!!!

Tonya has some more squares coming so 26 probably isn't the final count. I know mine will be there tomorrow or Friday and I think I saw a couple others who said they had sent their puffies this week as well. At least 26 squares ~ that's wonderful! I can't wait to see the finished afghan.

 

Oh that's good, still though 26 is pretty good, but i bet shes glad more are on the way, lol squares are always welcome!

Hi Everyone!  My day started out with another migraine, but luckily the meds worked quickly and hubby & I had our 1st "date" in ages!  We just went to this little bakery/breakfast place that we've been wanting to try for over a year now.  It was wonderful!  I was even able to eat a couple of bites of this delicious apple cinnamon roll.  Yummo!  The coffee was terrific too.  Everything is fresh, local ingredients and it was super clean!  Sorry for going on and on.  Can you tell I don't get out much, lol.  Then we went to Walmart and I wanted to get a 12" pillow form to finish my pillow that I've been working on.  Did they have any?  NO!  All they had were 18" and they were in the clearance section. UGH!  Oh well, I can't let it get me down because today is May 1st!!!!!!!!!!!!     Time to really get going on my Free For All partner's "square"

Sorry to hear about the migraine, Ive only had maybe 5 in my lifetime, but never ever want another! Glad you got out and about, good for you!! Sorry about the pillow form though!! Maybe another walmart??

Boo-hoo!  I didn't get to go to the Hobby Lobby in Victorville.  My car decided it wasn't going to let me go.  I had to stay to get it fixed for work tomorrow.  Such is life.  I'll go some other time.  I went to the "local" one and happily discovered there's a bead store in the same parking area.  I can't believe I hadn't noticed it before.  I love their selection.  I know where to stock up for next month's summer party with my crafting group.  I'm hosting!     I have never done anything like that, but I'll make it as fun as possible.

 

Well, time to get back to hooking.  I'm making a Lalaloopsy doll that my BFF is gifting for a birthday on Saturday.  So much to do and so little time

Feel better! I usually get a migraine or two a month, and I know that they can just knock you on your backside. I have prescription migraine medicine, but it pretty much renders me useless for the day when I take it!

But then again if you dont take it the migraine renders you useless lol. but at least the pain is gone. I used to get them all the time. Poweraide and Loratabs were my life savers. alot of it was stress in my life. on my first marriage I used to get optic migraines. no pain but the corner of my vision would be like a prism and it would eventually start taking over my whole sight in one eye. Doc told me to get rid of the stress in my life....... got divorced it went away lol

Kiddles is getting better each day. She was coughing constantly and now that is better. She had one coughing jag last nite at 2 and got me up. "mommie my throat hurts". Well here is a drink of water, now go back to bed. I take no prisoners!

I can feel for anyone that suffers from migraines...I use a hot pack..one of those rice bags heated in the microwave...over my eyes/temple and back of neck...when I don't have meds for them...Have sufferred for years with them and never have had relief from COLD compresses...Try the heat, it just might work for you...

 

I'm off to the doctor for medical clearance for my May 14 back surgery...WIll take hook and yarn with me for the waiting room...Keeps my mind off what is to come and reduces anxiety...In the meantime hope everyone has a great day...

Yesterday must just have been migraine day, because by the end of the day I had one, haven't had one like this in months!  My vision is all messed up right  now, could hardly sleep last night because of the pain and today I am still messed up.  I remember when I used to have them all the time that they last three days.  Well, here is to day 2!  Ugh!  I am soooo  not feeling this. At least it is gloomy outside!  Got like "floaters" in my eyes so not sure if I am even gonna work on squares today!  Hoping all that had migraines yesterday are feeling better today.

 

Thanks for the birthday wishes.  Did nothing, didn't even cook dinner, I made egg salad. lol.  My sister called and got to Facetime with my nephews, who were so excited they got to see me and talk to me instead of just talking to me.  They were so cute, one has two teeth out and it just looked so funny!  They are getting so big - miss them guys!

 

Anyways, hope everyone has a blessed day today.  If you aren't feeling well, try to get some rest!

Today is the Kentucky Derbys pegasus Parade. it is aired on National tv at 5:30 eastern time. Channel is Wave 3 for Kentuckiana veiwers.

my Kids will be Marching with the Orleans Bulldogs regiment band.  I will have a tall blondish brown headed boy playing the tenor (set of 4-6 drums attached to each other) Another Boy blonde and short on the bass drum. He is the shortest of the drummers. And will will also have a blondish brown headed daughter twirling in the color guard.  We are supposed to be the 3rd band to go through. But they change it on us every year. one year we were fifth and ended up last lol.  Hope you all get the chance to watch.

I am liking the idea of the free for all.  Is it time to start exchanging?? I've already got some ready to go in the mail.  I may have missed the rules to this game and if so could someone direct me to the appropriate post lol.  I have been trying to teach myself to knit & my crochet hook had gotten lonely.  So this is just what I needed to get reacquainted with my old friend "J".

I remember those prisms! Ugh.  No no no no. I'd see them appear and my stress level would skyrocket because I knew what was coming next: intense pain that wouldn't go away until I fell asleep.

 

I'm still a little bitter toward one middle school teacher... she asked me to read a passage aloud, but I couldn't process the words right because of pre-migraine symptoms (this was before we knew what was happening). I stammered through a few false starts and then confessed, "I can't." She just asked somebody else to read it instead! Now, we're talking about a kid who was reading on going into kindergarten. While I didn't know it at the time, looking back later I went "Wait a minute, one of the smartest kids in her class told her she couldn't read a simple paragraph. That should have been a big GD red flag for this teacher that something was wrong and she should have at least asked if everything was all right!!" But she didn't. What's funny is that, even though I'm still mad about that, I don't remember who the teacher was!

Yay, Facetime! My little guy loves it when he can Facetime with his Grana. Maybe take a rest from squares today - or only work a little bit if you reeeeeally feel the bug, but control your lighting well! I haven't gotten migraines in a long time but never did find out exactly what caused them. I mean, it was probably mainly stress, but not sure if there was anything else. I'd probably avoid doing anything that taxed my eyes much after; same with the tension headaches I still get now and then. Of course, pretty much all of my hobbies involve taxing my eyes (any art or craft, reading, gaming... at least in summer I can go outside but then there's the sun!)...

Hello my dear hooking friends!  Sorry to see some of you are still not feeling well and happy to see that others are feeling better!  As for myself, I still have a lingering bit of the migraine, but that's nothing big.  I have been getting several a week lately, so that has me concerned.  I don't want to have to make another trip in to Boston to the specialist, but he did get me down from every day to only several a month and only the real bad painful ones a few times a year.  Mostly I get pain that can be taken care of with the meds, auras, and a "fog".  He told me that I was one of the "lucky" people that will always have migraines because of the brain surgery I had in 2005.  Yay, another side effect of the surgery, lol!  Enough of that!  Time to talk about CROCHET!!!!!!!!!!!  I didn't get much done last night.  I put it in my lap. Does that count?    I think the only thing I actually did was finish a square that I had started the day before.  I really need to get my hooks flying today!

 

Snowflake, belated happy birthday!!!!    I hope you're feeling better...

 

Estee, great idea to take yarn and hooks with you to the hospital.  I always have them with me when I go.  They help a LOT!

Sitting here with most of the lights off, got the blinds open but it is pouring rain, so its not bright inside. Did do some of the rug, I think if I finish this round, I will be done.  I am actually kinda liking this, unfortunately the cord is so stiff to pull through that I am getting a blister on one of my fingers.  Next time I think I will crochet more loosely or get a bigger hook!

 

I was getting a major sweet tooth a bit ago so I made some no bake cookies, only I compromised on the recipe.  I didn't have cocoa or peanut butter, but I did have Nutella.  it is different, not bad.  

 

lol I am looking at the ad at the bottom of the screen here, and it says "My Chronic Migraine, don't live a maybe life.  Find a headache specialist who can help"  That cracks me up since that is what I am suffering with right now!!!

 

I think next weekend I am going to Hobby Lobby to buy some more yarn for my free for all partner!!!  Yeah! I love shopping!

For all you migrainees out there, so sorry, just try to rest, soemtimes mine got so bad, I coudln't even turn over in bed, and would feel like throwing up, which sometimes I did, and that only made the pain worse, I was sure I was dying, and then, later on, afraid I wouldn't, if you know what I mean!  So deepest sympathy here from this hookin chick! lol

 

All in all, couple things in my Secret partners bag, got a few more things in mind, and oh those squares, lol I gotta get to them too, he he he..........Have a peaceful day of rest to those that need to and it did snow here, not much a nusiance snow is all...but still,,,,,,,,,,,,,,this is May people!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I've had my share of migraines, more so growing up and into my 20's.  I had a two-day migraine less than a week ago.  Funny thing is that with me, I finally learned that if I had to throw up, I should.  It would make me feel so much better for some reason.  I can't use pillows when I'm in that state because the elevation makes my neck hurt even more.  So I sleep without pillows, and at times I've even slept so I'm across the bed and have my head dangling off the side of the bed.  Crazy things that make us feel better!  I'm glad it's only me in my bed or I wouldn't be able to get away with that.  I can't chew without pain shooting from my jaw and reverberating to my head.  Soups are heavenly on those days.  Enough of headaches or I'll talk myself into one

 

I'm itching to get started on the Free for All!  This weekend is my square marathon weekend.  Let's see how many I can make!
