Dishcloth Collection (4 images)

I'm working on some dishcloths to donate and came up with these. Please send me a pm if you find any errors as these were typed up from notes I made while making them.

Materials:

Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn
Size G hook
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Sizes: Dishcloth 1- 8"hx 8"w inches
Dishcloth 2- 7 1/2" inch circle
Dishcloth 3- 9"inch circle point to point
Dishcloth 4- 8 1/2"hx 8 1/2"w inches

DishCloth 1:
(Blue and white varigated one)

Different Stitches: Picot- Ch2, sl st in 2nd chain from hook.

Note: Ch2 does not count as a dc. Do not join into!!!

Rnd 1: Ch5, join with sl st to first chain to form ring, ch2, 12 dc in ring, join with sl st to first dc.
(12dc)

Rnd 2: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, 1 dc in next st,5 dc in next st, [1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, 5 dc in next st] Do this 3 times, join with sl st to first dc.
(28dc)

Rnd 3: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, 1 dc in each of the next 3 sts, 5 dc in next st, [ 1 dc in each of the next 6 sts, 5 dc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 dc in each of the next 2 sts, join with sl st to first dc.
(44dc)

Rnd 4: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, 1 dc in each of the next 5 sts, 5 dc in next st, [1 dc in each of the next 10 sts, 5 dc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 dc in each of the next 4 sts, join with sl st to first dc.

Rnd 5: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, 1 dc in each of the next 7 sts, 5 dc in next st, [1 dc in each of the next 14 sts, 5 dc in next st] Do this 3 times, 1 dc in each of the next 6 sts, join with sl st to first dc.

Edging:

Rnd 1: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 1 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st, 1 hdc in next st, [1 sc in next st, 1 hdc in next st, 2 dc in next st. 1 hdc in next st] Do this 18 times, join with sl st to first sc.
(38dc, 38 hdc, 19sc)(95 sts total)

Rnd 2: Sl st in next st, ch2, sl st in 2nd chain from hook (picot made), sl st in next st, picot, sl st in next st, picot, [sl st in each of the next 3 sts, picot, sl st in next st, picot, sl st in next st, picot] Do this 18 times, sl st in next st, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 1 (of Edging).
(95 sl sts, 67 picots)

Finish off and weave in ends.

Alternate edging:

Ch1, 2 hdc in same st as joining, skip next st, [sl st in next st, ch1, 2 dc in next st, skip next st] Do this 37 times, join with sl st to joining sl st of Rnd 5.

Finish off and weave in ends.

(orange/brown/white striped one)

Notes:

Ch2 does not count as a dc. Do not join into!!!

I work into the joining sl st because it helps mask where I Joined.

Rnd 1: Ch5, join with sl st to first chain to form ring, ch2, 12 dc in ring, join with sl st to first dc.

Rnd 2: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in each of the next 11 sts, 1 dc in joining sl st of Rnd 1, join with sl st to first dc.

Rnd 3: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, [1 dc in next st, 2 dc in next st] Do this 11 times, 1 dc in next st, 1 dc in joining sl st of Rnd 2, join with sl st to first dc.

Rnd 4: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, [2 dc in next st, 1 dc in next st] Do this 17 times, 1 dc in next st, 1 dc in joining sl st of Rnd 3, join with sl st to first dc.

(white one)

Note: On Rnd 7, you'll be working a sc in the spaces created when skipping 4 sts on Rnd 6. These will be referred to trispace (since it sorts of looks like a triangle)

Different Stitches:

Picot: ch2, sl st in 2nd chain from hook.

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join with sl st to first sc.
(6sc)

Rnd 2: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts, 1 sc in joining sl st of Rnd 1, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc)

Rnd 3: Ch2, 1 dc in same st as joining, 2 dc in each of the next 11 sts, 1 dc in joining sl st of Rnd 2, join with sl st to first dc.
(24dc) (Beginning ch2 does not count as dc)

Rnd 4: Ch4, 1 dc in same st as joining, [skip next st, (1 dc, ch2, 1 dc) all in next st] Do this 11 times, join with sl st to 3rd chain of beginning ch4.
(24dc, 12-ch2 spaces) (Beginning ch4 counts as dc and ch)

Rnd 5: Sl st in ch space, ch3, (1 dc, ch2, 2 dc) all in same ch space, [skip next 2 sts, (2 dc, ch2, 2 dc) all in next ch2 space] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to top of beginning ch3.

(20dc, 4-ch2 spaces) (Beginning ch2 does not count as a dc)

Rnd 3: Sl st in next st, ch1, 1 sc in same st, ch3, skip next st, (1 sc, ch3, 1 sc) all in next ch2 space, [ch3, skip next st, 1 sc in next st, ch3, skip next st, 1 sc in next st, ch3, skip next st, (1 sc, ch3, 1 sc) all in next ch2 space] Do this 3 times, ch3, skip next st, 1 sc in next st, join with dc to first sc to form first ch3 space.

Edging: [sl st in next ch3 space, ch2, 2 dc in same ch3 space] Do this 40 times, join with sl st to first sl st of Rnd.

Love these dishcloths! Do you ever get people who refuse to use them as dishcloths? I wanted to make some for hubby's family, but they all say they'll never use them.

and yeah, IM ONE OF THEM< i hate to use the pretty ones, so i make MYSELF plain jane ones, lol just so I don't feel guilty using them!!!!

These are beautiful! I'm not usually interested in dishcloths, but these patterns are so gorgeous that I think I might have to break down and crochet a few of them. LOL.
