Thank you all for your lovely comments and especially for fighting over it!

It is a "Summer Challenge" for craft club, although I didn't expect it to take all summer to make!!!! We were given a theme of "Summer" in March and it has to be finished for the September meeting (16th). Then we are going to have an exhibition in the local Library of all the entries to try to attract some more members.

It is very different to anything I have ever done before but, to be honest, it is something I would like to do more of. The problem is that I need to use the crochet to supplement my income and if I spend too long doing things like this, I won't be earning.

I am considering writing the pattern for it as I have written loads if the bits for my use. For example: The petals are all worked separately so I need to write the first one to make sure that all of the others are the same.

I don't expect to sell many as it may be a bit specialist. However, it has been suggested that maybe some people would buy it to use some of it for other projects like motifs for a bag.

I am hoping that my dearest likes it when it is finished so that I can hang it on our wall!

It is so beautiful that I have to say it again......it is a masterpiece of art work! :yes It must have taken a month of Sundays or longer to make all those leaves. Are the leaves attached with floral tape? Is that how you get the climbing "ivy" look to it? What kind of yarn/thread did you use? This will look absolutely gorgeous on a wall for display. I am envious at your creativity :blush.

Daisy, if you have a look at my blog you will find the answer to all your questions. The last post on there is similar to what I posted on here. And if you click on the "Summer Challenge" tag at the bottom of the post, you will see all of the other related posts. You will need to start at the earliest one to view the progress in the correct order.
