Purple Around the World quilt-ghan

TA DA!!! Here are a couple clicky pics of the Around the world quilt-ghan I made for my niece's birthday:

 

 

 

The pattern is on Cara's HappyYellowHouse web-page. I started this on December 25th and finished yesterday. I needed several marathon days to get this done. It is made of 475 saltines (first two rounds of a granny square). I am really pleased with how it turned out

BEAUTIFUL !!!!! So much work and love went into this afghan. I am sure your niece will love it and cherish it her entire life. Putting together all those squares must have been a trial. Good job !! Purple is my favorite color.

That is really great!!!! I was thinking of making the pattern also .. but it is alot of work!!! I hate sewing granny squares together. Give yourself a pat on the back for that one!!!!!

Absolutely beautiful! I printed that pattern the other day, just love it. Don't know if I have the patience to sew all squares together though. Love your purples.

This is just gorgeous. I really like this pattern but I dont have the patience to sew all those squares together. You did a fantastic job.
