Wow Ladies :

I'm so excited to see that some many already want to join this CAL..

I had so many ornamnets I wanted to make this year and was just able to do it in time.

So Thats is why this CAl idea came to me...

So I will be doing some yarn snowflakes... I already crocheted this year some of the sweetie snowflakes only i didnt put the eyes etc on them i just bought some irredesent gliter and glue it to the snowflakes...

I took photos of all them and by error i deleted the file where they were so all gone .

But the year is not here yet so I will do some more..

Nanffoc,,, you can find all sort of ornament patterns first on:

http://www.patterncentral.com

and well some of the amigurrumi patterns work well for ornaments and some of the small toys too...

I some times take magnet/fridgie patterns and make then into ornaments as well and even Pin patterns too.

I will try and post some of the links that are out there in the net as I come across them so you all can get ideas and please if you know of some of them hard to find on google search sites with ornaments please do kindly post the links here as well...

Ornaments dont have to always be christmas themed... There are finger puppets that can be ornaments and so much more the possibilities are endless..

One thing I always do is I crochet at least 1 dozen of one kind of ornament at a time then i go to another kind etc so beleive me you will find this CAL to be very addicting...

hugs

That's a great idea to do a dozen of each one. Once you're on a roll, that just makes sense. Count me in. I would love to do a series of crocheted snowflakes for our tree.

Thanks for hosting,

Debbie

Oh I love the sweetie snowflake...I made some in yarn this year also and got creative with it. Its a great basic and just the right size for an ornament. I also used the easy angel bookmark and made angel ornaments from it. Here is an angel pin that I found. http://www.heartmadeblessings.org/patterns/robbiesangel.asp Cheers

nice cover

http://www.wrights.com/wrights/class/needlework/croornamcover2/croornamcover2.htm

you could try this too. to decorate garlands

002-6.jpg it is simple you chain five over the beads and then one sc inbetween each all the way around. Wal-Mart had the 18ft garlands for $2.00 before Christmas they should be a great deal less expensive right now and they come in several colors. I used a size 10 thread and a size 6 hook.

I followed pattern thru row 1 of skirt. On row 2 I put shell, Vst, shell, Vst, shell (to shape the skirt) - I did this for 5 rows total. (Skirt is a total of 6 rows.

I hope this helps.
