Hi, my list keeps changing - either I get over ambitious and add to it or I get a dose of reality and change the list to easier, less time consuming projects. Here's what it is as of 7:25 am :) Carey

scarf for DMIL

Stitch Diva double petal shawl for DStep sister

wrap/cardigan for Mom (this is what keeps changing)

lapghan for grandfather

lapghan for grandmother

Something for Dstep mother, but haven't decided

Something for sister-haven't decided

My Christmas list is so daunting that writing it down is giving me hives.

Grandpa K - Swirls afghan - DONE!

Grandma E - Granny square afghan (almost done...only 5 more squares to go plus assembly)

Grandma A - shawl (not started)

Mom - Scrap afghan (25% done)

Dad - Hat, scarf and slippers (not started)

Sister 1 - Hat, scarf, and slippers (not started)

Sister 2 - ami doll (not started)

Sister 3 - ami doll (not started)

DH - no idea!

DD - ami doll

The problem is that I agreed to do a fundraiser for my DD's school, which was supposed to be in mid-December, so I was working on things for that and Christmas at the same time. They informed us last week that the fundraiser will be Dec. 2!! So I've dropped all my Christmas gifts to work like a crazy yarn lady on the fundraiser stuff. Hopefully, those last 20 days or so at the fundraiser will be productive ones.

Well, once again, I decided awfully late in the season to make things for Christmas. Not sure if I will get it all done because I have so many other things going on but:

I need to make these cute dolls for my friend's 2 daughters (they are 8 and 6 1/2). Then I have to make their baby sister a floppy ear hat for her birthday/Christmas (can't decide which it will be for--her 1st birthday is 3 days before Christmas, I think I'm going to make her a quilt, too, because I don't have time to crochet a blanket for her).

Then I want to make some Christmas ornaments for family friends. Problem is I don't have a lot of yarn and I have like no money (hence why I'm making gifts instead of buying them). sigh.

I am making multiple care bears for my nephew, a fairy set for my oldest daughter, i'd like to make "pillow people" type things for my 3 girls and my nephew, i'm painting Christmas village houses for the kids in the family, um a small doily for my sil, and some small stuffed toys for my neices and nephew on my side of the family. And I need to finish 2 throw sized blankets for my husbands grandma and grandpa p... but those might end up being anniversary presents, we'll see.

You had to ask... :D

*An afghan for my brother (I've never made a blanket before...still looking for pattern and yarn)

* a mitten, hat and scarf set for my mother

* dishcloths and hotpads for my mother

* a hat for my father (I finished his scarf last night...yay!!)

* hobby horses for each of my three children

* a Ninja turtle for my son (actually for his birthday in two weeks...yikes!)

* possibly more dolls/animals for my children

* 3 scarves for friends

* possibly a purse for a sister

There's probably more, but I can really empathize with the poster above who said she's getting hives just writing it down...I haven't started any of those things. I do have one excuse, though...I'm waiting for the Black Friday yarn sales to get some of the yarn. :D

Well, I thought I was almost done, but since then I've added to my list!

I'm making a filet name doily for a friend and her DH,

An afghan for my youngest brother,

A bookmark as a gift supplement to my other brother,

and a purse for my DD.

I'm starting to feel pressured, and I told myself I wasn't going to let that happen this year! I'd better get off this computer and get to work! :(

Edited: I just remembered another project! I've got some Christmas hand towels I got on sale after Christmas, and I'm making them into bibs for my niece. I need to get those done so that she can use them all December, though...so I'd better do them soon!

Lapghans and more lapghans. I think this has become my staple gift, and what some people not only expect, but want, from me. Oh, and some fingerless gloves for my daughter...and some more slouch hats for her too.

I have tried to whittle it down this year, and a lot of gifts will be coming out of whatever doesn't sell at my craft sale this weekend. But I still have some things to make or decide on--

-Kitchen Sets, one for sis and one for SIL

-Slippers 5 pairs (2 brothers, dad, stepmother and stepfather)

-Something pretty for mom

-Something for a gift exchange (maybe from craft show leftovers)

-Something for Work Secret Santa (maybe from craft show leftovers)

-Dishclothes for freinds

-Bassinet purses for my neices

-purse for step child (blank & gray incredible ribbon yarn with hot pink skull fabric liner)

-afghan for husb's grandmother (1/3 done, 2 strand on N hook, going quickly)

The good news is that I have the yarn bought for almost everything, but gulp I have a long way to go.

My x-mas list consist of making scarfs. But the problem I'm having is How long do you make the scarf's for men? I need to make 5 of them. Can anyone help?

jaye

I recently made a scarf for my DH using Patons Classic Merino Wool, I chained 163 and then did DC rows. My DH likes to wrap the scarf around his neck twice and this length was perfect.

If you're using a thicker yarn, maybe chain a few less.
