Doily experiment

I love the look of doilies and tried to make one into a baby blanket using baby yarn. The result was too small and holey so I thought how about for a little tablecloth on our little kitchen table. Here it is (pictures are clickable):

Thanks for all the compliments This doily/tablecloth pattern was found online at Crochet Pattern Central (it was called Pinwheel doily). The doily pattern said it was 13 inches in diameter but I used Lion Brand Baby Soft (which I found on sale at the Dollar Tree for a $1 a skein ) and used one and a half skeins. I used a 5mm hook and the pattern is 25 rounds.

I found a pattern pamphlet from gawd knows when at a thrift store. Someone had converted doily patterns into floor rugs. You work them using an N hook.
