2 pineapple doily/runner

Here are 2 pineapple patterns, they make up so quickly, now I know why they were so popular in the 1940s. The burgundy 1 is in 20 dmc,19.5 inches across; the pinks are in sizes 20 & 30, 38 inches long. I used what I had & just used the same sized hook for both & it basically worked out.

Your doilies are lovely. I always thought they were popular because the pineapple is the symbol for "welcome". When I was painting, I cannot tell you how many slates/signs I painted for individuals with various styles of pineapples included in the design with their names. Hundreds!

whoooh,,,lots of pineapples. I love the 2nd one...but I cannot tell if its a brown color or red color. Come to think of it it is probably a brick color.

Thanks for all the compliments! Barbara in FL, I also have a love of pinwheels, I just haven't gotten around to finding a pattern I want to make yet. I'm trying to figure out how the inner petals of a gardenia stand up in a pinwheel formation because I would absolutely love to crochet a gardenia!
