I finally tried a doily

I think it turned out ok for a first....... huh?

Very pretty, now you'll be collecting doily patterns as well as thread! At least there are alot of old free doily patterns online; also some yarn repeat patterns make awesome table runners, dresser scarves, bedspreads...that's where I'm at now. I had begun in thread & I am moving out into yarn.

Great job on your first doily. I'm sure you have already found it to be addictive. You start seeing pattern results immediately and they work up quickly.

You did a wonderful job. And I think you were very smart starting this with the thread size you chose. Too many people make the mistake of going from yarn right down to a 10 or 20 and get so frustrated. I was lucky...believe it or not, my grandmother taught me to crochet at the age of 5 and we started with thread not yarn!! Moving up to yarn was the problem for me...it felt so bulky and clumsy in my hands.
