Favorite Place to Crochet

Where is your favorite place to crochet?

Mine is outside in my yard. I love to sit in the Adirondack chairs that my husband made and crochet away; if it is rainy, I will sit on the porch. I just love to be outdoors doing my favorite hobby!

Gonna sound silly but in bed next to hubby... we go to bed really early weeknights as he usually is having to go in at 4 am - this week before 4- so I sit in bed listening to him sleep (lightly snoring), watch a bit of tv (quietly) and crochet(beside the love of my life) to my hearts content -or I get to sleepy lol Nothing else is going on and it is a peaceful time for me... sometimes the only one I get that day!

I have big fluffy couches and I love to crochet sitting in the corner of my love seat. Plus, it gives me each access to my overflowing side table/crochet corner. :)

I can definitely relate to the overflowing side table! LOL I crochet anywhere I happen to be at the moment but I really just love to be in my sofa/recliner right here in my living room with everything I need around me.

I have been known to do the porch thing once in a while too though.

During the day I'll crochet on the bed, with three pillows propped up behind my back so I can relax. In the evenings I'll crochet in the living room on the sofa while we watch an old movie. My mother bought me a large Peterboro basket one year for my birthday or maybe Christmas, and that is usually stuffed full of yarn and hooks with various projects on them. The coffee table is covered too, I'm sorry to say. That is my real favorite place to crochet, just because I'm sitting next to Rick and being close with him.

well, during the day (if at all) i crochet on the back porch while my kids are out playing...if they all (rarely) have "down time" at the same time, i will crochet on my ball and oversee the den- where they have their rests on the couch and bean bags. in the evening i either sit on my ball in the den and watch a flick while my hubby ticks away on the computer doing his homework - if i'm tired, i sit on the couch-which is a bad thing because the couch is so comfy i pass out :zzz almost every time. okay, so there's my book. now, when school starts, it's a whole 'nother story.....:pig

I like crocheting on the big comfy basement couch while watching TV. But my favorite place ever to crochet is in my bed, late at night (or very early in the morning, lol) with the windows open. i love the noise of outside at night.

Sitting on the couch with a nursing baby in my lap.

Wait, that's the ONLY place I crochet!

I have a rocking arm chair in my bedroom that gets the wind from the fan (it's still really hot here) from which I can see my TV, is near my tape player and CD player for my Audio Books, and is in the back of the house and relatively quiet. I spend most of my time there crocheting while listening to my books. My friend just gave me all Anne McCaffrey's Pern books on CD and tape. I'd read them all a couple of times years ago and am so enjoying reacquainting myself with all the wonderful characters. :))

My favorite place to crochet is outside our RV in the early morning with my cup of coffee for company. :) It is nice and cool and I can watch people walking their little dogs around the campground. No children up yet so it isn't noisy yet.

Don't get to do that very often...so when we are at home, I love to crochet in my big comfy chair that is under a skylight especially when working with black or brown yarn. Easier to see the stiches with more light.

I spent many weekends and summer trips before my marriage camping with my grandparents in their RV. There is nothing more relaxing than that early morning sit under the awning. :cloud9 If only I crocheted then!

Sitting on the couch with a nursing baby in my lap.

When my sister was a newborn, I would read while I held her. (Every morning at 5!) but I wasn't really crocheting in ernest then. I crochet everywhere. In my cover everymorning, sometimes on my bed, or in the living room on the couch while we watch a video. (Moody science tapes are so good!) (I have been known to speed up during very tense movies. lol. Once I finished and went a couple rows over a baby blanekt while watching Tornadoes.) ONce in awhile I'll crochet outisde somewhere. Mom's bench in the middle of flowers, or her swing surrounded by other flowers. That's only when it's something small. I'll be going to the dentist Thursday morning and I always crochet there, and then I"ll be going to the County Convention with my brother in the evening and I"ll probably take somthing to work on while they are in their seperate meetings. Wow. I guess we do need a book emoticon.

Here at dad's house, I almost always crochet on the love seat that sits in front of my computer and the tv. Sometime, when I want peace and quiet, I will crochet in bed. At home, I crochet on the couch, and at school, in my chair with my feet on the desk, angled toward the tv. (I like to crochet and watch movies:rock ) Sometimes I will sit in the blow-up chair that I found at a garage sale, or in my bed, or even more often than those two places, I lsat on the floor last year with my yarn and project spread out until my roomate got home:lol . Ok, that's my :read

P.S. I forgot to metion that I have read the pern series, only about a million times! I really enjoy all of Anne McCaffrey's books! You have given me the urge to get one of her books off the shelf, I may just have to read one tonight!:read

When nobody's around, I usually crochet on a couch in my computer/craft room where I keep most of my stuff. When the family is home, in the living room on my comfy couch with the comfy foot stool in front of the tv.

I tend to curl up on the couch when I am inside and crocheting, have the tv on but not really watching it. And if it isn't too hot outside and I have a small project, then I sit out on my chaise lounge and crochet there during the summer. Have a roofed over patio but come to think of it, never use it for that reason. And then of course, I drag my projects to different places if I know I have to wait. But the couch is the main (depending on the season).

I do most of my crocheting right here at my desk.

We have an office in the house for DH's business. We each have our own desk & puter and we have a tv in here as well.

We spend most evenings in here and I hang out here a lot during the day. It's so easy to crochet while watching tv, spending time with hubby and clicking on email & boards all at the same time. Not so good for my backside though

I'm going to have to learn to crochet from charts so I can design a Pern afghan!

In the mornings we've been sitting out in the garden to do our crocheting and beading (ED's thing). I kinda hate to see school start as we won't have much time to do that anymore..... :))

When I lived in my own place, my favorite place was the couch with my feet on an ottoman. Now that I live with my folks (again), I'm stuck with a recliner (which I don't particularly like-I'm not a recliner person). I'll have to try the Andorondack (sp?) chairs. I love sitting in these chairs, but have never actually tried to do any crocheting in them. Maybe this afternoon!

My goal is to find a non-reclining chair I LIKE at a garage sale before the end of the season. Perhaps if I wasn't so busty, crocheting and knitting wouldn't be so difficult for me in a recliner...but gotta go with reality.

I have a spot at the end of "my" sofa (my DH also has a sofa) with my stuff piled around it. I have a couple of plastic crates I tote around with current UFOs that I bring over. I can see the tv from this spot, also the cats come and sit with me and bask in the presence of yarn.

Most of my crocheting is done on the metrolink train, traveling to and from work each day. I also crochet at lunch, in the break room. These spots are hardly my favorites.

I LOVE to crochet in the swing in the backyard, or in the recliner in the front room. Another favorite spot is the recliner at my grandma's house, in front of her cable tv.

 • 2 weeks later...

I too crochet in bed with my DH. He reads and i crochet. the couch is a nice place.. we don't watch much TV, but between the DNC, the Olympics and the RNC... we've been doing LOTS of viewing!

i would love to crochet in the park... but i'm always afraid there will be bugs in the bag. I'll have to try the ziplock suggestion ^_^

My bed is also my favorite place to crochet. I have a dog at my feel and a cat on my lap and the remote nearby.

I usually crochet on the couch in the den with my Lion Brand bag next to me. I tote my projects around the house in that. I put two pillows under my left arm, and I'm right there with the family (still living with my folks) and the television. I also enjoy putting on some Glenn Miller in my bedroom and crocheting on the bed.
