Finally Done!!!!!!

So back in January (1/23/2011) I started a filet crochet table runner. Okay, I thought it would be a nice table runner, but I WAY underestimated what size it would come out. Last night I put the final DC in it. All in all, it has come out to be about 12 feet long and has over three miles of thread in it. Awhile back I stated calling it the Epic Filet Crochet Project and boy did it live up to the name. I've worked on it so much that I now have a calus on my finger that I use to guide the hook.

I will be posting up pictures as soon as I can get a couple of people to hold it while I take the pic! I'm just so excited about finishing it that I couldn't wait to tell everyone! :cheer:c9:clap

Now it's on to some of the doily patterns I've been drooling over. I ended up teaching myself some fancy stitches (front post triple cochets, popcorn stitch and some others). I'm also gonna try size 20 thread for the first time today (got some really pretty verigated I've been dying to use!).

Congratulations on getting your Epic Filet finished! Can't wait to see pictures. :)

... I know what you mean about drooling over other patterns while working on a long one. Sometimes when I'm in a long project, I'll make a quick (2 hrs/less) project just for the break, and feeling of getting something finished! lol

Okay, I finally pinned done enough guys to hold it fo me! These ae not the greatest pics but will give you a good idea of the project.

I did do several other doilies and read a couple of books during the time I worked on this one. I started to get so burned out and I didn't want to end up shelving this!

This is one of the biggest things I've ever crocheted. I made a huge blanket out of two foot by two foot granny squares several years back, I'll have to wash it and get a picture of that posted one of these days too......

I haven't measured it since I finished it but it is right around 12 feet long and about 19 inches wide.

Thank you all for the compliments!!!!!!!!!!

Good heavens! That's big enough to use as a street banner. Are your fingers sore after that unbelievably large task?
