  3. Sweet!! Thank you all! I will check out all those links!!! Manda in Auburn, WA
  4. Does anyone have a good website where I can get verigated thread? JoAnne's by me has a very limited selection of thread (I did find that I really like the Aunt Lydia's Ocean thread. Looks like ocean camo! lol) and I want more variety. Kinda tired of white and off white!!!!!! I would also be interested in checking out people that dye their own thread. I've got some christmas presents in mind that some hand dyed stuff might work perfect for! Manda in Auburn, WA
  5. It is somewhere around 12 feet long. My husband wants to get some felt to back it and hang it like a banner in the living room. Thank you for the compliments!!! Manda in Auburn, WA
  6. I haven't measured it since I finished it but it is right around 12 feet long and about 19 inches wide. Thank you all for the compliments!!!!!!!!!! Manda in Auburn, WA
  7. So after eight monthes and right about three miles of size 10 thread, I finally got the Epic Filet Crochet Project finished. It is right around 12 feet long. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=210890932306901&l=6350f97685 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=210891008973560&l=0e7ebd1615 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=210890882306906&l=be3e27f6b7 I hope ya like! Manda in Auburn,WA
  8. Okay, I finally pinned done enough guys to hold it fo me! These ae not the greatest pics but will give you a good idea of the project. I did do several other doilies and read a couple of books during the time I worked on this one. I started to get so burned out and I didn't want to end up shelving this! This is one of the biggest things I've ever crocheted. I made a huge blanket out of two foot by two foot granny squares several years back, I'll have to wash it and get a picture of that posted one of these days too...... http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=210890882306906&l=be3e27f6b7 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=210890932306901&l=6350f97685 http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=210891008973560&l=0e7ebd1615 These are public facebook links, you do not need a FaceBook profile to see them. I hope you like! Thank you for looking! Manda in Auburn, WA
  9. So back in January (1/23/2011) I started a filet crochet table runner. Okay, I thought it would be a nice table runner, but I WAY underestimated what size it would come out. Last night I put the final DC in it. All in all, it has come out to be about 12 feet long and has over three miles of thread in it. Awhile back I stated calling it the Epic Filet Crochet Project and boy did it live up to the name. I've worked on it so much that I now have a calus on my finger that I use to guide the hook. I will be posting up pictures as soon as I can get a couple of people to hold it while I take the pic! I'm just so excited about finishing it that I couldn't wait to tell everyone! :clap Now it's on to some of the doily patterns I've been drooling over. I ended up teaching myself some fancy stitches (front post triple cochets, popcorn stitch and some others). I'm also gonna try size 20 thread for the first time today (got some really pretty verigated I've been dying to use!). Manda in Auburn, WA
  10. I am hooked (really no pun intended lol) on this filet crochet stuff! I finally found something that rivals cross stitch for me! Thank you all for the compliments!!!!!!! Manda in Auburn, WA
  11. That sounds about right. I just remember putting in free doily patterns in google and printed out a bunch of free ones. But I've moved since then and haven't found the box that I packed all the patterns in!! I'll find them someday! lol Thanks for the compliments all! Manda in Auburn, WA
  12. I made this one for my aunt and uncle. It's right around 31 inches long. Not much of a runner but more of a centerpiece. http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=210030&l=778a09389d&id=100001579873162 This is also a public FB link. Again, thanks for looking!!! Manda in Auburn, WA
  13. I've always wanted to do a pineapple doily!!! I finally did it! It's about 7 ish inches across. i found the pattern online somewhere (can't remember where off the top of my head tho). http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pid=210043&l=af85ab4d1a&id=100001579873162 It's a public FaceBook link, you should beable to see the pic even if you don't have a FB account. Thanks for looking!! Manda in Auburn,WA
  14. That is simply awesome!!!!!! I love it!!!! Manda in Auburn, WA
  15. Those are public Facebook links. Anyone can see them unless Facebook is completely blocked on your computer. All these patterns came from a book called No.2 Patterns Filet Lace from Le Filet Ancien au point de reprise nos 1 & 2 from Lacis Publications (it's the one with the green cover). Theres some instructions in the front of the book but that is for doing the patterns as filet lace (pre-done netting and then you stich the designs into the net). But as long as you know how to figure a starting chain, they are perfect for filet crochet. I've got another of these books that I just did a table runner from. It's got an orange cover and it's called No 1 Patterns Filet Lace from Collection "Recko" Grand Album de modeles pour Filet nos 1 & 2 also from Lacis Publications. My Mom bought these books a long time ago but I don't know where she found them. I have seen them for sale on the web but I can't remember where I saw them. Manda in Auburn, WA
