Squiggly potholder with a twist (ha ha)

I made this for the KISS potholder swap. If you've made or seen one, you know that they are actually more suitable as hot-pads than pot-holders, because the mesh does leave holes. My partner agreed to the "hot pad" idea, but as I worked on it, I was feeling a little guilty about it not being an actual potholder. Then I got the brilliant (duh!) idea of adding a backing to it, so it would be more solid and could be used as a potholder. I'll probably make them this way all the time now.

A pattern for the potholder or for the backing? You can find the directions for making the squiggly potholder online (don't have an immediate link, but I could find one if that's what you need). The backing is pretty much a solid granny square, in thread, of course.
