Our House Part Two

Hi ladies. Still coughing, sneezing and sniffling here, but I feel better overall. Both yesterday and today, I did some decluttering in the basement. Mostly I threw things away. 4 big bags out in the trash today. I have a pile for Goodwill as well. Now if I can only get DH to clean off his desk and the shelves around it. Little piles of paper everywhere!

Other than that , I did more laundry today, played with the monogrammer on my vintage sewing machine and made chicken pot pie for dinner.

Tomorrow is a work day.

Hi House. I am sending positive vibes in the hopes that you all feel better soon! :hug   :manyheart  DD and her three guys all have colds and I'm just keeping fingers crossed and taking extra vitamin C.

Our weather is gorgeous - cool and clear.  We always have hot weather in Sept. and Oct., but hopefully summer is gone!

We had errands and DH had an appt. today, so I need to start supper.  Have a good evening. ♥

Happy Wednesday, all. :)   I hope everyone is feeling better today! :hug

DH has been gone this morning and it's amazing what I've accomplished. :lol   An old friend is a volunteer marshall at a local golf course and invites DH to ride with him during the tournaments.  I've done some laundry, a little cleaning, stewed and boned two chickens and plan to crochet for a while.

Marlene ~ Is your computer working better?  'Hope so!

Better get myself in the shower so I can crochet. Yay!

Hi Ladies,

Hope everyone is feeling better today. Our weather is warming up and it's beautiful out. Just wish the bees would fly around some where else so I could enjoy sitting outside. Hubby has developed the cold/sinus stuff. I hope I don't get it.

Mary, So far the other laptop is working good. It's always nice to have some time to ourselves even if we are doing things around the house.

Hope everyone has a nice thursday!

Hi again!

I had a very productive and perfect day....for the first time in a week no dizziness whatsoever, and i was able to multitask!

Off to have a cup of tea...it's really chilly. Tomorrow will be about the low 60's and windy and rainy....followed by 75 on Friday. Wierd...

My sister is coming on Monday and I'm so looking forward to seeing her. It's her 75th birthday. With all her major heart issues from when she was 16, she's a walking miracle....

Joanne,  hope you get well fast. Cindy, it sounds like you're going in the right direction!

Hi, Mary and Marlene!

Have a good night, my friends.

Good morning. Still coughing and sniffling a bit, but on the whole I'm feeling quite a lot better. Sun is shining and it's not as cool as it has been.

Nothing much happening here. I'm going to go visit with dd and the boys for a while later this morning. I think I will stop by McDonalds and pick up lunch for them. Then grocery shopping. I'm haven't gone in several weeks, so it's time!

Hi Ladies,

Judy, Have a nice visit with your sister. Glad your feeling much better.

Cindy, I bet your grandsons loved seeing you come with McDonald's for lunch. Hope your cold is close to being over.

Holly, If your temps were as cool as ours were last weekend it was quite cool at night time for camping. This weekend here is going to be beautiful camping temps. I remember one time when I was a kid and we went tent camping. We left it was in the 70's. When we woke up in the morning it had snow. No one had winter coats. A camping trip I will never forget.

Joanne, Hope your feeling better.

Maya called tonight. She did cheerleading camp tonight and will cheerlead at the varsity game tomorrow night. They seen some garden snakes by the front porch today. I did some fall cleaning today in the living room. I tried rearranging furniture today but the room isn't big enough to do what I wanted to do so I put it back the way it was. Hope everyone has a great friday. I have to pick Payton and Jocelyn up after school. They and DS will be here for the weekend.

Morning peeps!

Marlene, I used to love rearranging furniture but we have so many doorways and a big patio window that there isn't much I can really do. That, and a hubby who doesn't like change...lol!

Joanne, did you see the Yankees game last night?? OMG....I was so stoked I couldn't go to sleep for hours!!! Jeter is such a class act... I memorized so many of the wonderful scenes from the game...don't want to look at replays on the news. It's all permanently engraved in my mind.

Have a great day, my friends.

Hi ladies. It continues to be extremely busy at work. I'm off this weekend, but work again on Monday. I just got home a little bit ago. I think we are going to go out for dinner later on, (whenever DH shows up)

Judy, not much furniture re-arranging happens here either. Our living room had a wide opening to the dining area, two big windows and a closet door in it. The only unbroken wall has bookshelves, mand I also have to work around an upright grand piano. Also, my dh likes things to stay the same. One of my sisters in law was so into re-arranging that she switched the bedrooms around every few months. Their three bedrooms were all exactly the same size. I couldn't help thinking what a lot of unnecessary work that was. After 6 or 8 months everyone was back where they started.

Hi all

I took off Tuesday and wed to rest to get rid of the cold. Thankfully, I'm feeling human again. I met dd and the boys after work and we ate at panera and then got Robbie new shoes. Dd is finally closing on Monday on her house. The time already got pushed back to later in the afternoon fingers crossed it finally happens

Judy. I did watch the Yankee game and it couldn't have been scripted better. Watching Yankee baseball will not be the same without #2!!!! I was dragging a bit at work since it took me quite a while to fall asleep after the game.

Time to start the weekly chores. Have a great Saturday !!

Good morning ladies. It's a lovely fall day here. Nice weather for the wedding we are going to this afternoon. i have laundry going but I don't think I will do anything else productive. Work was extremely busy yesterday, malus we went out last night, so I am dragging.

Judy, regarding the infrequent grocery shopping, I try to be organized, and I keep a very well stocked pantry and freezer. if it weren't for perishables, I coukd probably go a month or more without going grocery shopping. I suppose in a pinch, we could do without fresh fruit, veggies and dairy, but it wouldn't be fun. Hmmm, maybe I ought to get some chickens and a cow and a greenhouse....then I'd need a hired hand to cope with it all. It might be cheaper to grocery shop!

Joanne, glad you are feeling better.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Cindy, enjoy the wedding! We have a gorgeous day here, too. I'm wondering if the bad winter weather up where you live helped you get that organized with your pantry?? I know we start getting extras together about now in case we don't want to go out on snowy days. But our food store is actually pretty close to us, just not close enough to walk back home with much.

Judy, We have an independent grocery store with about 1/4 mile. I always buy meat there, but the groceries are a lot more expensive than the chain stores, so it's not my go-to place. I've always kept a well stocked pantry, most likely because my mom did. My daughters do as well. I must say that it was a comfort last winter though!

Hi Ladies,

I decided to drop in and say "Hi." I have been wondering what this thread was about. I have seen it several times.

The weather was cloudy today and has been all last week.

I am currently working on a friendship ghan.  I have many squares and right now a few plans to assemble the squares as soon as I have enough.  I have an adorable dog who lives with me.  I named him Rusty.  He is my furbaby.

I hope everybody had a nice day.

Hi Ladies,

Rusty's Mom, Welcome! We (hubby and I) have a furbaby, Daisy. She is a rat terrier and two years old. Between us we have 3 children, 5 grandchildren, 1 great grandson and 1 great granddaughter on the way. We have had a beautiful week of sunny and warm weather. Although it is raining right now.

Joanne, Glad your feeling better. I sure things went as planned for DD's closing today.

Cindy, I use to change my furniture around every so often when I was much younger. Changing bedrooms way to much work.

Judy, Hope you had a nice visit with your family today.

Hope the others from the house are all doing well.

I got a wonderful compliment from one of my customers at the restaurant I use to work at. It was on my hometowns community page. They were talking about places to go for breakfast besides this one restaurant in town. This lady said she missed Mickey's they had the best food. Then later she came back on and said my meatloaf was the best. I left her message and told her she made my not only my day, my month and my year, but I would share my recipe with her if she wanted to friend me.

We had a busy weekend last weekend. What fun it wasn't picking the grandkids up at school. I don't usually have any issues with the ex-dil but did friday. She thinks she needs to bring there overnight bag to the school when there getting picked up. All summer she only sent Jocelyn's stuffed animals she sleeps with and her blanket and sometimes Payton's stuffed animal. I say she can take them to the office during the day and not be there when they get picked up. I'm making the kids blankets for Christmas so maybe that will help. I doubt it. It's just how she operates. Then to top things off she took Jocelyn's school bag and that isn't suppose to happen. DS had to take her to court about that. Needless to say the trip home wasn't much fun either. I'm going to parking in the loop where they move you through fast. I have been parking at the end of the school. But that just opened up a can of worms with her.

Saturday Emme picked the kids up and they went and met up with DS. So we took off and went to Maya's sister Elaina's birthday party. It wasn't until 4 so it worked out perfect.

Sunday I had to watch the kids for a couple of hours then took them to meet there dad and he took them home. It was the quietest ride I've ever had with them.

Today I did lots of laundry. Tomorrow I'm going to my sister and pick raspberries. She doesn't have the time to do anything with them so she told me to come and get them.

Have to go pic what wedding pictures I want to order. Hope everyone has a great tuesday!

Good morning peeps!

Welcome, Rusty's mom! Everyone's welcome here...and sometimes we actually get some crocheting done...lol!

Im a baby boomer, married forever and with a 40 son, and mom to two very spoiled German shepherds.

Marlene! Hi! What kind of blankets are you making for the kids?

I pulled out a couple of new patterns to start. I get so bored with the same thing all the time...

My 88 yo crochet friend gave me some metallic Red Heart yarn in bright colors, and I have a square pattern that looks like a snowflake, so I'll be making the snowflake part of the square in the bright mettalic yarn and make the rest of it in bright white. They will definitely POP!

And I have  a graphghan pattern I love...you'll see it when done ;)

And we had such a great time yesterday - DS even had a break in his schedule so he was able to come over for an hour. My niece and her boyfriend are dog people so my guys were thoroughly spoiled for the entire day!

Have a great one my friends.

Good morning. Cold, gloomy and drippy here today. What a change from warm and sunny! Work was super busy again yesterday. I'm wondering if there is ever going to be an end to it.

Welcome Rusty's mom. This group started out as a CAL and kind of evolved into a crochet what you want and friendship group. Everyone is welcome. I've been married for a long time, (but not as long as Judy!), have three grown children, 5 grandsons, and work part time as ba critical care nurse. I also have a fur baby: a Brittany spaniel named Sophie.

Marlene, poor Peyton and Jocelyn. Their moms behavior had to affect their weekend. Doesn't sound like she is ever going to change. What a great compliment on your meatloaf.

Judy, I'm not even sure it's boredom for me. I think I just have craft-itis. I just see so many things that I want to try. Sounds like you had a good visit with your sister. Sparkie and Lucy must have enjoyed it as well.

Joanne, did closing proceed as scheduled?

Shout out to Mary...how are the boys?

Holly, hope you are back posting soon. Are the girls enjoying school this year?

Hi House. :)  Sorry to have been mia for a while...there has been something every day and I hope it slows down!

Hi to Rusty's Mom!

Judy ~ Will your company be there a while?  I'll bet Lucy and Sparkie were very happy to have your DS and others there at the same time. :yes

Marlene ~ Your ex DIL doesn't seem to have changed much. :(   But I'm so glad you got to spend time with the grandkids and go to the birthday party, too!  Will you all be coming to Texas in December again?

Joanne ~ Did the house closing happen yesterday?

Hi to those I've missed. ♥  DH has an appointment at 10:30, then we'll have lunch somewhere and then back home.  I need some yarn therapy. :lol

Mary, they just stayed for the day....Lucy and Sparkie were exhausted and passed out on the living room floor even before they left. They aren't used to so much activity! I love it when new people who come over are so I to our dogs...says a lot about them! And Lucy was the best I've ever seen her as far as behavior goes.

Hi Ladies,

Joanne, Glad that the closing did finally happen for DD. But sorry to hear about the mess it was left in. If it was me I would let my realtor know. Hopefully they would contact her realtor if for no more than that person to red flag her name as someone they might not want to deal with again.

I wonder if her family made her leave her home and she took it out on DD.

Judy, Sounds like a good visit for everyone at your house yesterday.

Mary, Yes we will be coming to Texas this winter. I asked Maya if we could leave before Christmas and she said absolutely not. I think in a couple of years it won't matter to her to much. I'm not ready to not be here for Christmas either.

Cindy, It's really sad to think a mother can act like she does. I'm just so happy that kids love Emme and she them. She is going to be another good positive person in there life.

It turned cold here last night. The weather man said enjoy tomorrow as it is going to be the nicest day for at least the next 8 days. Temps in the 50's and 60's with some rain. Yuck!

My sister went with my mom to a doctors appt. She's been seeing a kidney specialist for about a year now. Things are looking good. Her blood pressure was a little low so there changing that. She's been have some light headness when she gets up. I'm glad she is as healthy as she is.

Hope everyone has a great wednesday!
