Hi ladies. Busy day at work today. (Seems to be the new normal). I'm off til next Monday now. I actually worked for someone else today. She wanted to go to a seminar.

Today started out really chilly, but it turned into a nice sunny day,

Dh went out to dinner with his uncle, so I had dinner with my youngest dd. I've been home for a while though. I'm going to knit on my baby blanket a bit before I go to bed.

Hi Ladies,

We went down to my sisters and picked some raspberries. I put them on a cookie sheet to freeze a bit then I put them in freezer bags. Pretty soon I need to make something with them. I think I should have enough to make 2 pies. I was able to visit with my niece and hold and feed the my great niece. After that I went grocery shopping.

Hope everyone has a nice thursday!

Good morning. Cool and rainy here today. I ought to go run some errands, but not feeling too much like going out. Maybe I'll vacuum instead!

Judy, I saw a free Kindle mystery today and one of the reviews compared the author to Agatha Christie. Another said "I highly recommend it to lovers of all things British.", which made me think of you. I haven't read the book, although I have read and enjoyed another in the series. It was a pretty light hearted mystery, easy to read, interesting characters and not too long.

post-8552-0-57173100-1412266755_thumb.jpghere are some squares I've been working on. Red Heart Clebration yarn, and it has a silver thread going through it. And the one color is hot pink, not red!

Good Morning, House. :manyheart

Holly ~ So glad all is well with you!

Judy ~ The squares are gorgeous!  :clap

Cindy ~ I haven't been reading much, but love mysteries!  I've been recording the Agatha Christie series on PBS and watching them when I can.

Marlene ~ Freezing fruit is great, isn't it?  I slice and freeze bananas and pull a few out for snacks - the boys love them!

Hi to those I've missed, too. ♥

I feel bad for not being here very often...this next week looks a lot quieter for us.  We are staying with the boys from 1 - 6 today while DD and SIL go to the TCU game...wish me luck! :lol

Any Linda news?  I hope all is well with her and Sweet Pea. :yes

Have a good day, everyone.  It was 49* this a.m. and feels wonderful!

Good morning ladies. It is cold and gloomy here. The high is supposed to be in the 40s.

We had hoped to go to ArtPrize today, but DH is sick, so we will be staying home. ArtPrize runs all next week, so we might still get there. Voting ends today , but the entries stay up for another week.

Guess I will go do laundry....

Hi Ladies,

Judy, Love the squares!  I see why hubby wonder who they were for.

Mary, Enjoy the time with the boys today.

Holly, Glad all is well at your house.

Cindy, Hope DH feels better soon. I was hoping this weekend would of been a nice one so we could go to art prize. Some day we'll make it there.

We have the furnace on today. Rainy and cold her. There was even some sleet this afternoon. Today I went to the post office, the library in a bigger city close by. Are library and there library don't share so I can't take out books. Boo! They had 3 crochet world magazines I looked at. I use to buy it but quite since I haven't been making any thing from them. But the october issue looks like a nice one. The libraries subscription has run out so no luck there. I went over to the crochet books and they have 31 books on there shelf. Lots to drool over there. Then I went off shopping. I haven't bought skinless chicken breast in awhile and boy has it jumped in price. If I run across a really good price I will be stocking up.

A couple I graduated with have been high school sweethearts and married almost 40 years. She is terminal with cancer. They weren't able to come to any of the class reunion festivities because she wasn't feeling well and has just been going down hill every since. My heart just aches for them.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Hi all, seems as though I don't have a lot of time any more to be on the computer.  It's in the boys room and they have "homework" every night on the computer that they have to do and then it's time for them to go to bed.  so I can't be on it except when they aren't here.   We have a good system (most nights) and have them in bed by 7, of course they really don't go to sleep until 7:30 or later but at least they are laying down and trying to sleep.

It's been busy at work, still getting the new boss settled in and "putting out fires" that were left burning when the other ones left.  It's getting better and I hope by next month, there won't be as much going on.

Sounds like you are all busy.  Judy love the squares!!  I can see why you'd want to keep it!

I made several purple hats for the shaken baby awareness month.  I think the church sent 109 of them.  I was surprised that there were that many.

My next project is to make a set of rings that the 2 year olds will use to help keep them in line while going down the hall or outside.  DD has a set that's in really bad shape and it's really hard to clean.  I'm trying to make one and hoping that it will work.  At least the "ring" part is ok, I used a donut pattern to make the ring.  The strip will need to be figured out next.  Then I get to make them pillows for them to sit on.  And I'll probably want to make some Christmas stuff too.  So I guess I'll be busy for a while.

I really need to get my afghan out that I started about 4 years ago and finish it.  It's been in a box since we moved and I really need to get it out.  We bought a new bed a couple of weeks ago and I need to see if it's big enough for this bed.  We got a temperapedic (or how ever you spell it) and the head and feet raise.  I love it!  My back and knee don't hurt and I can sleep a lot better.  I didn't even hear the storm the other night and that's saying something for me--I always hear the storms.

Well, I'd better go and get busy.  I hope you all have a great weekend and I promise to try to get in here and see how everyone is as often as I can!

Hugs to all of you!

Hi, ya, peeps!

Sherry, your bed sounds heavenly!!! I hope the unfinished ghan works for it.

Marlene, we've noticed that meat prices in general have been going through the roof. I think it's time for me to get more creative...

Cindy, is DH feeling a bit better today??

My hubby just vacumed up the dog fur downstairs and is now damp mopping :tup  (I'm on the computer upstairs, in his old office) We'll be going to Delicious Orchards this morning.

It was barely above 40 degrees this morning! We will be getting a bit warmer during the week, but it's close to time to plan where to put my pot of rosemary and the one of mint in the house(I split them the other day).

Have a good one, my friends.

Hi Ladies,

Sherry, Nice to see you again. Sure hope the afghan will work out for your new bed. We have a waterbed and I just love it. Hubby don't like it. In Texas we have an 8" foam mattress and I love it to. Hubby likes that one and one day we will replace the waterbed mattress for a foam mattress.

Judy, We just had blt's for supper. My sil turned us on to turkey bacon and we really like it. We can get two meals out of one package so we may be eating more breakfast meals for dinner. Today I sorted through the receipts in my purse. I had a receipt from exactly two months ago and I had purchased chicken for a little over 10.00 for a family pack. Saturday that same package was over 15.00. That's 50 cents a pound in two months. I think if hubby can get two deer from work this year we will get two. They usually have people who drop there deer off and don't come back and get them by the end of the year he will let the employees buy them for the processing fee.

I talked to DD and Maya today. Maya only had half a day today. If DD's friend was up to company they were going to go see her and her new family. She and her boyfriend just had twin boys 8 days ago.

Are friend Gordy just got out of the hospital this afternoon. He has been having trouble breathing. Mary called to let us know he was home. She said he is very weak. She's afraid she may have to take him back even tonight. I told her if she did call us and we take him. He has congestive heart disease.

Are friend from Michigan/Texas who had a brain anersyum  last year fell and broke her elbow that is a replacement. She is going to tomorrow to find out what they are going to do about it.

I talked to brother last night and he is having problems to. He has congestive heart disease. He had some blood work done in september and his kidney function was very low. His new doctor sent him to a kidney specialist, but he talked to the heart doctor first. The heart doctor put him on the diuretics. He had another blood test and his level has doubled but is still low. The kidney doctor told him two increase his fluids by two glasses per day. He went and seen the heart doctor and he said okay, but if you gain 3-5 lbs in 3-5 days call me. If you can't get it off call me. He told both doctors that he doesn't do changes without talking to his heart doctor about them because he has to be very careful on his intake of fluids. He usually ends up in the hospital once during the winter while I'm in Texas.

I did that baby blanket out today and crocheted on it. Hope everyone has a nice tuesday!

Hi all

I've been very busy!! Saturday, my gs was a ring bearer in a wedding. It was poring rain in the morning, but by the time of the wedding at 2 the sun had come out. He did a great job and the bride was beautiful. After the wedding I went to DD's mil house and we watched Robbie and then headed back down to the shore where the reception was to pick up Ryan. Sunday dd and sil finally started moving in. They had a cleaning service come and the hardwood floors all re finished. The painters have finished the boys room, the master and the family room. They will be doing more painting this week. And they got belle back. My sils brother had been keeping belle since they couldn't have her with them while they were staying at my sils moms house. She has two cats. I'm taking off tomorrow to watch the boys so they can get more unpacking done. Busy, busy, busy!!!!

I'll try and catch up soon. Have a good day!!!!

Hi Ladies,

Cindy, I seen a pattern of yours on a blog today. This couple he loom knits hats and she crochets all kinds of different baby things and they send them to different charities. One of the places they send to sent her the link to your baby shoes. The blog is www.karensgardenof colors.blogspot.com  It was november 13, 2010. They have been doing this for many years. There retired and she says this is a good thing to do with there time. I thought you would like to know your famous and you didn't even know it.

Joanne, I bet Robbie was a really cute ring bearer. Glad all worked out and DD is moved in. I bet Belle is so happy in his new home.

We will be going to my sisters tomorrow and spend the night. Hubby has to be to the dentist at 8am to drop off his dentures then go back in the afternoon to get them. He has his physical tomorrow to. Thursday he has a follow up with the heart doctor. He has to see him every 6 months. He also has his ptsd group therapy and counseling. So we will be home late.

Anyone getting up that usually isn't up to see the red moon? I'll be up getting ready to leave the house so I hope to see it. Hope everyone has a good week!

Good morning. I don't know about the red moon. I was up for a little while between about 5:45 and 6:45 or so and there wasn't much to see. Too many trees around here blocking my view. The total eclipse was supposed to start around 6:24 according to the news.

Marlene, it's always fun when someone makes one of my patterns. Thanks for letting me know. Sounds like you are having a busy day.

Joanne, I think helping dd will definitely be a busier day than going to work. It will also be more fun, I think.

Sherri, we have a temperpedic mattress too. Ours just sits there, none of that fancy extra stuff! It's one of the most comfortable mattress we've ever slept on, we replaced a waterbed with it about 10 years ago, so we will soon be needing to buy a new mattress.

I worked on Monday and Tuesday and we went over to ds's house for dinner. An avid gardener used to own ds's house and he still has a lot of beautiful flowers blooming. Everything at our house is droopy and getting brown. He has these huge burgundy and cream flowers still blooming that look like dahlias, (maybe they are, I don't know when they bloom), that are just gorgeous. Wonder if he would notice if I stole that plant?

I will need to run to the grocery store today. Tonight is the monthly potluck at church and I'm supposed to bring a salad. I think I'll make a broccoli salad. That travels well and I can dress it ahead of time, so it saves carrying dressing separately.

Good Morning, everyone. :)

Marlene ~ Safe travels today and tomorrow!  It sounds like you all will be super busy - I hope the appointments all go well. :yes

Joanne ~ Oh, I'm so glad your kids are finally able to have their own home again.  :cheer  We've had way too much experience with buying and selling houses...there always seems to be a glitch somewhere along the way.  Have a good day today!

Sherry ~ You sound so much happier with the new people at work. :)   Your new bed sounds fabulous - we probably need to get something similar.  DH's back still bothers him and I do believe my right knee is going...gee, I guess it's called "getting old." :lol

Judy ~ How many squares have you made?  I love the pattern you're using!

Hi to Cindy and those I've missed, too.♥

It hit 101* yesterday - a record high and all I can say is YUK! ;)

I've started a "one big granny square" baby 'ghan and am thoroughly enjoying it.  Not much concentration needed!

morning, peeps!

well, I have two more visits to the dentist. The tooth, a molar on the upper left, is the same tooth that has been repaired three previous times over the past ten years. Time for a crown...and nitrous oxide....  In two weeks I go for the next visit, then the final thing two weeks after that.

Mary, what's on your hook these days? The Celebration yarn is such fun to work with! And the pattern was easy to memorize...
