Elise, I LOVE those slippers. You did a great job on them. :clap May I ask where you found the pattern, or is it your own?

I'm not a member of this CAL, but had to jump in and say how much I love these slippers. :hook

It's a Coats and Clark pattern, called CD Adult Slippers. I think I found it on Bev's Pattern site. It is VERY easy. I can make a pair in just a little over 3 hours.

Now, these I altered just a bit. I added a scalloped edge along the top and the poof ball, (that was the one thing she like in some of the other patterns she'd looked at)

The scalloped edge was one row of sc along the top and then on the second row, *1 sc, ch 3, skip one sc, 1 sc next sc* repeat around the row.

Not hard.

Those are so cute! Nice job!

I was working on my tank top tonight, and I think I'm just gonna have to frog the entire thing and retry it with different yarn. Also, I didn't understand why I would need to turn the work on each row (I figured it would look weird) so I didn't. Half way through I saw that the "seam" was making a nice spiral around the tank top. And when I tried it on, it was so tight I had a hard time getting it off. The yarn needs to be different. Oh well.. I'm not counting this exactly as a failure, but as a learning experience. Now I know what to do for the second time. :-)

Thank you Elise. :hug

I was able to find the pattern pretty easily, thanks to my BFF Google. LOL

Yours look better than the ones on the C&C site. I'm definitely going to put these on my to-do list.

hi!

I have decided that this is the quarter to finish what I started first:

1. finish writing and share pattern for American Flag square

2. finish cut-away cardi

3. finish red crib blanket

4. finish afghan for MIL

5. finish afghan for BIL

6. finish afghan for CCD teacher

7. organize the stash

Then, I would like to play with these, that I removed last quarter:

1. Boboletta sweater

2. 2 more tissue boxes

3. End of year teacher gifts

4. afghan for DD2

my list is pretty aggressive for me, but... what the heck! I am GOING FOR IT!

I think I'm going to jump in on this, but my list may be short.

1. Finish Sweet Lorraine scarf

2. Start a Sweet Lorraine in laceweight (for my sister)

3. Finish knitted baby sweater.

4. Finish Heirloom Baby Blanket I think I'm going to frog this

5. Get to the decreasing section of my cotton Prairie Blanket (that's been languishing since last summer)

6. Finish my second ribwarmer.

7. Start new lunch bag.

Hubby is having to travel a lot in the next few weeks. This will keep me occupied.

Guess I need to edit this list since I ummm started few new projects. :P (and found a few hiding in a closet)

So...

8. Finish Shrug This

9. Start Eva's Shawl

10. Finish Spanish Doily

11 (And since I started it) finish new lunch bag.

I keep adding projects onto my list.. and of course this is probably the worst time to be really ambitious with crocheting. I have a newscast to write for one class, exams to study for, a project for my imaging class to finish... a trip to cali to finish planning. I also need to redo my resume and write a cover letter for an internship I want over the summer. Busy busy busy. And yet.. I don't really feel like doing any of those things! How sad. haha. :thair

Sorry for the rant. I feel better now. :D

misc001.jpgmisc002.jpg

Here they are. I kinda made it up a little bit as I went along.. but I used the pattern called Openwork Mesh that is in my Funky Chunky book.

Flying high, I made a set of wrist warmers a few weeks ago too. Like you I am not sure why! They are nice when I am on the computer though. Keeps my hands warmer while typing.

I tried to crochet while wearing them but my hook kept catching on them.
