All occasion tote

Hi,

Now that I know my purse swap partner has received her tote, I wanted to share it here. I made this from the Lion Brad site it is their all occasion tote. I used Simply Soft in black. This was a really fun tote to make, and my first attempt at lining.

I love this pattern, I actually have it in my stash to do. I chose a silvery grey color b/c I wasn't sure about black, but it really looks great in the black. Now I really can't wait to get it started!

Not sure if I am the best person to answer this about lining, since this was my first attempt, but I'll tell you what I did.

 

I lined it by creating a duplicate shape with the fabric. I sewed the lining together with a machine and then sewed it by hand into the tote. I terms of how much material to use I got a 1/2 of yard, which was more than enough if I messed up. I didn't want the lining to go all the way to the top so that worked out, I probably could have made the lining at the bottom a little bigger, but it all worked in the end.
