Hat-a-Week

Croshay

Recommended Posts

Hi! I've been reading this CAL every day, and it's been great! I haven't posted anything because I don't have a digital camera (and wouldn't know what to do with it even if I did). However, I have been crocheting hats, so I guess I will officially join the CAL.

The first one I made was from this website:http://www.coatsandclark.com/fun_and_free/yarn/lw1269.htm

I've made a few of these hats before.

The second one was the Ugly But Warm Hat--love that pattern!

The third was the Mitered Hat--too big for anyone living in this house.

And I also made another ubw hat. They go so fast, you might as well use up all the scrap yarn on these.

So that's what I've been doing, in between two baby afghans and the Crochet Dude's Afghan from the Crochet Calendar.

I love this site!:manyheart

haven't made this one.. but I might make the scarf (if i have time) for the red scarf project.

*you know you're addicted when you seriously consider going to the store for more yarn ~in the RIGHT color, what you already have just WONT do~ at 11pm on a work night*

WOW. I've tried to catch up by reading the posts, and looking at the pictures; and my eyes have glazed over. I think I made it to page 16 or something and decided I wasn't going to make it. So. I'm gonna go stitch. Finishing a scarf then move on to a hat which will be my first for this project. I noticed I had some of the patterns you all are showing and so we must all like the same stuff. :hook Fun to cheer each other on. I've not had a chance to locate who in my area actually wants or takes hats; later I'll check into that. Could I suggest those of you already involved post addresses of where you're sending and or taking your stuff. I think I'ld like to spread it around as well as see about the local stuff.

Since I'm behind....best get cracking.

Wow...look at the HATS this guy makes...

but no patterns...sigh...

That's cruel, absolutely cruel. To make all those beautiful things and then deprive us of the patterns! Isn't there some kind of "crocheting law" against this kind of behaviour? Did you see his other stuff? The bags, and the sweaters and the afghans? I think I'm going to go jump off a bridge or sumthin'.

I emailed him some time back, to ask a question I think; can't even remember now; but never even heard back from him. I'm always taken back when people don't even acknowledge an email.

Me, too. I'm a bit late to the party, but just joined the forum and am looking for a CAL. Would love to join this one, but somewhere along the way in this thread, I've lost track of which pattern you're on this week. Would someone be so kind as to point me in the direction...if you'll have me?? :wink

Question about this week's hat (week 3).

Are you cutting the main color each time you switch colors, or can it be carried up to the next row? I really hate weaving in ends. THANKS!

Jen,

I carried mine along, seemed to work out fine.

I made another hat. This one is made of Lion Brand Thick and Quick using a k hook...took about 30 minutes. It was just a basic in the round pattern, nothing fancy. My camera is dead today so no pic as of yet, but this makes 3 thus far!:clap
