Well it is April 11th and my taxes are done, filed and paid.  Yeah, we had to pay again, but that is every year.  One lucky thing is that with the little we paid this year, maybe I won't owe any next year.  That would be a first.

4 more days before the deadline, unless they give us another extension.  I swear if it keeps up I will be filing on April 15th next time.

So how is everyones day going?

We got some of the maybe rain, but luckily no tornadoes or water spouts.

Hi everyone,

It is official, went to the bank today and finalized all the paperwork because we paid off the mortgage.  What a relief that I don't have that hanging over my head anymore.

The rains are going to start tonight and go till Sunday sometime.

This weekend we are setting up the grow op in the dining room and going to start my peppers and tomatoe plants.  I finally get to play in some dirt. lol

Have a great day.

The yards are finished, look wonderful and the sprinklers are repaired and running on auto again. My SIL did a great job.

My eye checkup was half and half good news. The pressure check was good and the photos inside the eyes showed no changes (Yay!) but the Dr wants me to see a specialist for Thyroid Eye Disease. I'm just waiting for that Dr's staff to call and set me up an appointment. Thankfully he comes to the eye clinic here once a month from his out of town area. Hopefully that will be good news also.

We're having low 80's weather and high 80's next week. 🤪 I am not ready for any heat. Each year I get less and less tolerant to summer heat. I guess I live in the wrong part of the country.

I hope everyone is doing well and having a pleasant day.

Thank you Mary Jo. I chatted with Lea some and she’s doing. Just very busy.

i started afghans for a baby girl. One is called Time to Relax Granny Throw out of pink and gray. Thenb the other one is called playful prism baby blankets. Out of the variegated yarn I showed you all. So just working on both of those back and forth.

Good Day.  We are up to 75 today and the rest of the week, we will be in the 80's.  Guess (🤞) we are into summer mode.  They are starting to bombard us with Hurricanes, even thou the season is not till June 1st.

Waiting for my order from Costco.

Hope everyone is well.

Have a fun day.

Happy Patriots Day!!

Contrary to popular belief this is not a day to celebrate the Boston Marathon.  Or as a young PT working with me suggested a day to celebrate our football team.

Today is the day the British marched on Lexington and Concord firing the shot heard round the world. (A little school house rock for those who remember.)  We still have local reenacters who rise at dawn to march in costume.  Thankfully the weather was perfect today, no snow or rain and not too hot.  Those costumes are not heat friendly.

Hi everyone.

Finally waking up.  Well, I have been up and walking around, but not quite awake.  Awful night last night, got maybe 2 hours of sleep.  Worst I've had in a long time.

Hope everyone is ok.

Off to my corner.

Have a nice day and night.

Good morning! Hope everyone is doing ok. Is it a sign of age when you're happy with doing ok instead of expecting doing great?

The pool lady came yesterday and uncovered, vacuumed and treated. I added the salt (they don't bring that anymore) and my back is not happy this morning about wresting 40# bags. I'll backwash this morning, throw the vacuum in and hopefully that'll take care of it. Just have to get in the daily mindset to check the pool.

I had two grands yesterday--one with a slight fever along with the baby, but it was still a fairly quiet day. Off to the dentist this afternoon for an extraction after two abscesses? in less than 6 months--suspected crack in it.

Somehow I didn't hit submit this morning, so I'll add on now. I'm back from the dentist--a quick and painless visit. Hopefully no problems to come. I have official permission to be a couch potato for a couple of days.

I sometimes just get over whelmed when all the chats and checkins, along with cards and letters I get when I am MIa for a bit, makes me feel very loved.... and I thank you all 100% for thinking of me.  Honestly, when the "visits" come some days it is what gets me through!

Hubs has officially lost sight in his left eye , but his right eye is good, but oh this alpha male of mine just sits... lamenting, silent, barely eating... 3 of the boys had a " come to Jesus " meeting with him over the weekend.. so fr it seems to do some good, baby steps.

Saturday was grandson #3  8th birthday, for the next 6 weeks he and his brother are the same age... whew, any how his parents and I took him to the planetarium in Chapel Hill and he loved it! He loves space , history and reading... right up his alley.

Still working about 3 days a week for 3 hours, not hard work but sometimes it still wears me out, glad to get out around folks...and I have been doing some things at our senior center., Wish I could get Chris to go, he DID get out and do a run to the dump with a load of junk from the farm.  Thanks to Brenda and MJ, I have been decluttering, knowing that the door will soon close on "the farm", chickens are gone, they are such funny creatures , I miss them and the hen fruit, no garden this year unless I do some containers, which I might...Just working on a corner to corner blanket for my brother who has cancer. They removed part of his stomach and liver, same thing happened to my Dad and Uncle, he doctor said despite my ulcerative colitis ( which is under control), I don't have the PMS2 gene that my brother has.

I just wanted to pop in and tell ya'll how much I appreciate you,  After all these years you know me, if I can't climb over the mountain , or go around it.... I put my head down and plow right through it!

HUgs!

Lea, good to hear that you are hanging in there!

Pet peeve: those emails saying 50% off all yarn. You know it says "up to" 50%, but your brain grabs onto the number. And when you look at the sale, nothing you're interested is 50% off.

I like them and the 4 cent shipping, till you read the fine print.  Then it is either free shipping or 4 cents shipping, if you spend $39 to $49.  Good thing I am trying to keep from buying yarn and such.

Hi Evey one.  Have a grat day.

Hey everyone.  It is Friday and for those working. TGIF.

All the hockey is set and the playoffs start Saturday.  The Lightning plays Sunday as noon and they only have to travel across the state to the Panthers (Miami).  This should be a fun series.  Best of 7 games.

Hope everyone has a fun weekend.

Hi Everyone! I hope all are experiencing good health and wonderful weather. We definitely are having good weather here.

I finally got my hair cut yesterday, went to the eye Dr last week (pressure check was good but wants me to see a specialist for TED), have a primary care appt next week and hopefully everything else will stay in order. We now have a neurologist in the area, so I'll have a conversation with the primary about these migraines that have become more frequent and worse with intensity. Golden Years my rear end! Rusty Years is what they are!

Have a super weekend!

There seems to be an ever ready amount of Specialists for us to see.  Thanks for the giggle about the rusty years.  It does seem like a lot of moaning and groaning going on.:rofl

It's 85°F today and no wind- Love it! Too bad it didn't stay between 75-85°F all year. GD and her BF are coming over to shampoo my carpets for me. Part of my Spring cleaning. I was going to have the pros come in and do it but there's a big waiting list.

I'm piecing along on the cat box project but it's going very slow. It keeps me busy though. I crocheted a headband and now can't find it. I've looked everywhere and so has DD. It really does make me wonder if I'm going goofy.

Enjoy the day!

I come here with a heavy heart.  I received a pm from pineknott's daughter Rene informing me that Lynn passed away April 14th in her sleep.

No, yarn buying for me either right now. I’m on a very tight tight budget. I want to do so many things at the farm that I need to start using what I have for now. Have some Guinea eggs coming. Daughter really wants to hatch her own. Also looking for some goslings.

This is sad news.  My condolences to Rene and Bill.  We lost a good friend and I will miss her a lot.  I was lucky enough to have her as a friend for a short time and I know the rest of you were friends for a long time so I just want to say sorry for your loss as well.

Rest in peace Lynny.

OMG, I am so sorry for Rene and Bill.  May she be at Peace.

She is over the rainbow bridge with a large stash of yarn and young again.
