Played catch up on photographing my latest projects this past weekend. Even with cloudy weather I think the pics turned out pretty good.......also hadn't posted the 1st ones I had made for the year previously...

2012 has started off as another good year for doilies!!!

All beautiful! I especially like the oval one, which would make a great placemat if the right size for one. Is that made with heavier thread? I'm asking because I can't use the skinny stuff. Is there a pattern available somewhere? I also love the one with the red hearts that look like insets.

The oval one that's presented in a frame is actually quite small. It's only 4 7/8 " x 8 1/4" and comes from the book 99 Little Doilies. It was a request from a dear friend that wants to frame it in a very old frame she has. It's made with #10 thread. The frame effect I created with a software program for the photograph.

They are all just beautiful! I really admire you for being able to do all of that intricate thread work! I have given up working with steel hooks & thread due to arthritis and cramping. But I still love to look on the finished thread projects of others with a great deal of admiration! The workmanship in yours is so perfect and precise! You've gone beyond a craft ~ this is true art! You are one talented lady!
