Good afternoon ladies :hi

Just a quick check before my patient gets here.  I just realized that I didn't come in earlier.  But, on the upside I've been busy :yes  After I finish up with this patient, I have to go over to one of the local radio stations festivals to help represent KtB.  Not exactly sure what's on tap for the weekend just yet :think

I hope you're all having a wonderful Friday with a great weekend to follow.  If I don't make it in tomorrow, I'll 'see' you Monday :hug

HI, everyone.  I've been unable to get on the internet for most of this week.  Super frustrating!  Anyway, this afternoon I went through a program on the computer to try to get it going before breaking down and calling the company to complain, and lo and behold, I was able to get it going again.  :yay   I'm so proud of myself!  :yay

HI, Christi!  Your shrug is lovely!

We're having very high humidity here.  And we've got rain in the forcast for the next week.  Mostly for showers and fairly fast moving storms that go in and out of the area in an hour or so.  It's getting very hot here, too.  Supposed to be in the upper 90s today.

Mary, I hope DD gets her results today and they are a-okay.

I didn't take notes as I was reading and everything is kind of scrambled in my memory.  Hope everyone who was is ill is all better now and didn't pass it on to anyone else.  Sweet Pea isn't bothered by storms for which I am grateful.

All for now.  BBL

Happy Friday! Happy Weekend!! Doing the Happy Dance--and don't even mind that it's raining! Although, I would prefer nice weather, just glad to be away from work for 2 days!

No carnival again tonight. There are still people there- but I'm sure this weather has really cut into the amount of $ the church will raise. Hoping it's a little better tomorrow and DD and I can take the boys there.

Guess it's time to pull out the hook!

Good Morning, Ladies. :)

Linda ~ Yay for figuring out the internet problem! :cheer

I actually crocheted yesterday evening :yarn - the blue, yellow and white baby RR is about 28 inches so far.

We'll leave here about 8 and hope to be home by early afternoon.  Have a good Saturday!

post-8552-0-84328100-1372526400_thumb.jpgI finally had a non raining time to take a pic outside! The 3 hats you haven't seen yet - the white/vari one will get a color on the border of the brim when it's time to sell it or donate it. I also want to measure the sizes so I can have the info handy. Time to make more girl hats. I also want to get some finer weight yarn to make smaller sizes.

Judy, those hats are really sweet. I enjoy making baby hats, but haven't made any in quite a while.

Mary, I looked up the Bella Diana vintage afghan, and you're right, it's pretty much identical to the one I posted.

Nothing much to report here, house is clean, laundry is caught up and I'm spending the day reading, knitting and crocheting, ds is here today, and requested pasta and chicken Alfredo for dinner. I started the chicken, which I do in the crockpot, and then he got invited to a cookout with a bunch of his friends. However, he says he would like to spend an evening with his parents for once. Most of the time when he comes home, he goes out with his friends, so it will be a nice evening for all of us.

Well, back to my book......

Hi all,

Judy- the hats are adorable! How's Sparkie doing?

Cindy- How nice of DS to want to spend some time with you and DH! I'm sure that just warmed your heart!

Mary- Hope all went well today--I know it's not easy!

Linda- Hope that your computer continues to not give you any fits! And that your day at work was a smooth one

Got up early today- we had someone come over to replace the skimmer on the pool and the switch on the electric outlet that we use for the filter. He also cleaned out all the leaves that had dropped to the bottom of the pool when the cover ripped during Hurricane Sandy. We had the pool cover replaced shortly after the hurricane, but the damage was already done. It was worth every cent we paid him today to get that all taken care of. The pool should be ready tomorrow for swimming at least that's the hope.

I got the grocery shopping done and the laundry done..then went for a pedicure!

DD and the boys came over this afternoon and we went over to the carnival when it opened at 5 and ahd dinner there and walked around. There was one thing that Ryan did- they had a pool with fishing poles and fake fish and every child won a prize whether or not they caught a fish or not.. Ryan actually caught a fish! He picked a ball as his prize! He's still a little too young for the rides that they had there, but we had fun anyway.

They'll be coming back tomorrow afternoon after SIL goes to work and we're really hoping that the pool will be ok for swimming and the weather cooperates. DD is very anxious to see how he reacts!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

Wow!!!  We were busy today!  We got in a large shipment of things for the store, so in addition to helping customers, Lily and I were pricing finding places for all the new things.  They included a whole bunch of new dresses and I even bought two of those for me.  One of the dresses is one we've had for a while, but I wanted to try them on and they are really cute on.  They just don't look like much on the hanger.  Also, scarves, hair items, jewelry, etc.  We had a lot of sales, but I totally lost track of how much with everything that was going on.  I didn't get a chance to sit down for the first 5 hours and not much of the 6th.  I mended several items (a dress, a headband, and a panda hat for a child) much to Lily's delight.  She loves my sewing skills.

We're going to try a bit of a different schedule.  One of the other sales' gal's husband gets in on Thursday and leaves on Sunday and is gone all week.  I'm going to try trading my Tuesday for her Thursday.  It will give me 3 days off the beginning of the week and Fridays at the end of the week.  We'll see how it goes this coming week and then decide if this works or if we need to adjust it to maybe Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday with a day off in between each day of work.

Judy, those hats are adorable.

Cindy, how nice to have DS there with the two of you tonight.  The chicken alfredo sounds good.

Joanne, sounds like the pool work was a good investment.  Looking forward to hearing how Ryan likes the pool.

Hope you all have a good night.

Happy Sunday!  I have the TV on and I'm staring at screws and washers and nuts and wooden parts for my Kromski loom.  :reyes   I can do this.  :yes    I'm sure I can.  :no   I've put lots of things together before.  :yes   I can do this.  :reyes   Gulp!   :reyes   Wish me luck.  :P

Good luck, Linda. Just take it one atep at a time and you will get that loom together.

It's a lovely day here, warm, with a nice breeze and low humidity. I've been outside most of the day, but I decided it was getting a bit too warm. I'm having another lazy day, reading and crafting.

We had concrete placed on our driveway on Friday, and we can't drive on it until at least Wed evening. We have one car parked at the neighbors and another at the township hall, which is a 10 minute walk away. At least I'm getting a little exercise when I want to go somewhere!

Thanks, Cindy.  I've got the stand put together now, but had to go to the store and get a set of hex wrenches to do it.  While I was there I got some other things I was short on too.

It was sunny with just some high siris clouds this morning, but now it's really overcast and looks like rain.  They're really black and rather ominous looking.

Hi, my friends....

Joanne, you're lucky to have Ryan so close by - and he's a lucky boy, too!

Sparkie is doing great...in addition to his probiotic from the vet, I went back to a basic maintenance Eukanuba, not large breed. So far so good. He looks good, too - his "waist" is perfect at 98.6 pounds :)

And Chunky Monkey (aka, Lucy)needs to drop a couple of pounds! I thought that was the case....and the vet's scale proved it when it showed 88.4 pounds! She's a solidly-built girl, so we don't want her skinny...her legs and all are very well built for a female, but her waist is disappearing, so it's time. :lol

Have a good night everyone.

Hi all,

Linda- by the time you read this, I hope you've got the loom all put together- I know you can do it!

Cindy- Your weather sounds delightful. Today, it rained off /on this afternoon, so we didn't go in the pool. We're hoping that the weather is good on Wednesday. DD said she'd like to come over with the boys after I get out of work. (and if they are coming you can be sure I'll leave on time!)

Judy- Glad to hear that Sparkie is doing good...and love how you affectionately refer to Lucy as 'chunky monkey' (that was one of my Dd's favorite ice cream flavors as a teen, but for the life of me, I can't remember which one :lol )

I am very lucky that I live close to DD- I stopped by this afternoon when it was raining and played with Ryan for a bit, and held Robbie for a little bit- he's really starting to smile and react to things now, so he's a little more fun, too! Ryan has finally starting calling me something. He knows I'm Grammie, but he says Me-Me.  It's kind of growing on me!

Hope everyone in the House had a good weekend.  I'm sure glad that it's a short work week!

Well, I've got the loom most of the way together.  :)   I'm short one screw and have some others that I don't know what to do with.  :think   The directions left a lot to be desired as far as directions go.   :irk    I've got it mounted on the stand and set up to make the warping strands (the strings you weave the yarn over and under.)  Those directions also leave a fair amount to be desired.  :think

I may have to phone a friend for a little more info.  She's got one and should be able to keep me on the straight and narrow.  :yes

Judy, glad to hear that Sparkie is back to doing well.

Joanne, I think 'Me-Me' is sweet.  My GS calls me 'Grandma Linda' and his dad's mom is 'Honey'.

Good morning housemates!

Thanks for the well wishes.

I went to the doctor on Thursday.  My blood pressure was high.  She gave 2 new scripts for that.  She did an EKG...slightly enlarged heart for which she says happens to people with high blood pressure.  I had blood work and urine sample...won't know the results for 2 weeks.  She wants to focus on getting the blood pressure down first.  My legs are slowly going down.  My allergies are really kicking my behind.  She is also sending me to a weight specialist.  I'm still not feeling great but at least I know work is being done to find out why.  There are good days and bad days.

I had an order for a baby blanket and made $100.  It did help my crochet mojo somewhat.  I'm currently working on another baby blanket for the same customer.

Well, I'm going to lay back down for a couple of hours.  I'll check back in later.

Have a marvelous Monday all.

Good morning, everyone. :manyheart

Linda ~ Wow!  You're doing great with such a complicated project and poor instructions on top of that! :cheer   Can't wait to see pictures when it's all together. :)  It's so nice that you job allows for flexible scheduling - I know your co-worker appreciates your switching days!

Judy ~ So glad both the children are doing well!  I know just how they feel with the waistline issue. :D

Joanne ~ Aww, I think Me-me is very sweet!  I have graduated from Ammy to Grammy - Luke can finally say his "Rs." :lol   He still calls DH Gamps, though. :)

Cindy ~ Your weather sounds so nice. Ours is much cooler - we're supposed to be in the 80s today!  Much better than the 100* we've been having. :yes   I know you'll enjoy the newly paved driveway!

Hi to the rest of the House, too! :manyheart

Saturday was a very long day, but we've now packed up what will not be left in the house.  Yesterday, we worked in the yard and I did 4 loads of laundry.  Have a great morning!

Good morning.

Val, it's good to hear from you. Hopefully the new medication will help you feel better. I hope the weight specialist helps too. I feel a lot more energetic having lost just 30 pounds. I have more to go, but it's slow going. And WTG on the sale!

Mary, glad you have the house stuff taken care of. Is there still more to do? We have to get together to empty my parents condo. I'm not at all looking forward to it. Most of their furniture will be donated to the organization my mom volunteered for. They have a thrift store to raise money. However, my dad built a lot of their furniture and we will be dividing that up among family members. My sister and I already packed up their clothes and most of the dishes, wall art and all the little things my mom had all over. There are still hundreds of books there as well, as my mom was an avid reader.

No big plans here today. Laundry is nearly finished, and I already did some vacuuming. Tomorrow I have a dr appointment, which is likely to take a long time. My sister in law used to work for this doctor and says he takes longer with his patients than his scheduler allows, so by mid day he is quite a ways behind. My appointment is at 12:30, so by then he will probably be running quite late. I am seeing him for what my internist thinks are either auto immune or menopause issues, and he is considered an expert in the field. My sister in law recommends him highly, even though she no longer works for him.

Well, better return to laundry......

Good morning everyone.  I'm happy with what I've accomplished on the loom so far.  Here's a picture of the first warping set.  Also pictures of the trifle that I made a while back.

Val ~ It's so good to hear from you again.  I'm so glad that they are working on the problems and have a plan of action to get you feeling better.  Congratulations on another sale and another order!  :yay

Cindy ~ Hope the cleaning out of dad's condo goes smoothly.  Good luck with the new doctor.  Hope he can get things under control for you.  :hug

Mary ~ Hooray for cooler temps!  :yay

Wow, Linda - that loom would terrify me - and my ADD would kick in, for sure! Love the trifle :drool

Val - it's great to see you!! I hope you get on track to feeling better now that you've seen the doctor.

Cindy, good luck tomorrow. I like my ortho doc - he takes his time, explains things and listens to me and my questions. Priceless quality in a doctor - which is why waiting an hour to see him was easy for me. WTG on the weight loss! I went back to WW...nearly back to goal. Again :laughroll

...and I love the "grandma" names you gals have ended up with. Sweet :rose

Good afternoon ladies :hi

The radio station festival got rained out on Friday, I was on my way there when it just started to downpour and I got a call not to bother coming, they were packing it in :shrug  Saturday I had patients in the morning and then headed over to KtB for the better part of the day.  By the time I got home, Steph and Bean had already left to go out a bit before the Pirates game.  I opened up my grams' old sewing machine that my sister got and cleaned her up, boy was that a job!  It hasn't been used in FOREVER!  Which reminds me that I wanted to head over to the sewing shop :think  Anyways, the light bulb still worked and the machine works too.  Although I cleaned it as best I could, it still needs more done on the inside plus some oiling.  I was having trouble getting the tension loosened up on the bobbin.  Then on Sunday I helped Steph a bit in the garden and then headed over to KtB again and we had a leader meeting too....there was about 20 people there!  So, the project is coming up quickly, we only have a few days left on the indiegogo campaign for fundraising and we're pretty far behind on our black railing covers we need :eek  When I came home Ingrid and Averie were over while Sloan and his dad went to the game (with a 2 hour rain delay) and we cooked out.

Today I washed sheets and towels while the cleaning people were there and got over here around noon.  Don't ask what I've done since I've been here, because I just don't know! LOL.

Linda - WTG with the computer and loom!  The trifle looks delish!

Joanne - Glad you got to the carnival a bit and that Ryan is calling you something and I think meme is cute :manyheart  Is the pool ready for use yet?

Mary - Glad you got some crochet time in and it sounds like the packing is moving along too.

Judy - Great job on the baby hats and pretty good report from the vet!

Cindy - How nice to have an evening with ds home!  I hope your appt goes well tomorrow and that he's not too far behind.

Val - Glad to hear you finally saw the doc and are on the road to hopefully getting some answers.  WTG with the baby ghan orders!

Hi all!  A sort of busy weekend.  We bought a new furbaby--she's sooo cute and sooo little.  I will try to post a pic later when we can get a good one of her.  she's part Papillion, Pomerarian (sp??) and daschhund.  She weighs 1 pound!  She's all black with a white mark on her chest.  We named her Missy Snuggles (we all like Missy except oldest GS and he liked Snuggles).  It's nice to have a puppy again, we've not had a pet in 5 years.  So we've been playing and snuggling with her.  Littlest GS is slowly coming around, he's still afraid but at least he will touch her and brush her hair.

Work is still a mess--don't think it will ever get straightened out :(   At least one boss will be on vacation for a week, so I'll have some relief.

Looks like all of you have been busy!   Lots of fun things going on.

Well, I'm off to get in my brace and do some crocheting.  I did purchase the yarn for the afghan (ginkie) for my Godson (who's 18) and wants a new one to replace his old one that's about 15 years olds.  Will have to get on that project soon as he leaves for college in August and I hope to have it done by then.  Also, I'm looking for a cute dinosaur pattern.  My DIL LOVES dinosaurs and I would love to make one for her for Christmas, so if you know of any free patterns, please let me know.

All of you have a great evening!  Hugs to all my friends!

Hi Ladies,

Judy, Jocelyn is 7. The hats are cute. Good news on Sparkie and Chunky Monkey.

Cindy, Your chicken alfredo sounds good. Suna made us some and it was good. I need to make some. It's nice when are kids want to spend time with there parents. Good luck at the doctor appt tomorrow. The doctor we use to have would always spend a lot of time with us. We never left feeling like he were rushed through. We might wait awhile to see him but it was ok.

Linda, Way to go fixing the computer and putting the loom together. The trifle looks yummy!

Joanne, Glad the weather turned nice enough that you could take Ryan to the carnival. To bad the weather didn't cooperate enough for the pool though.

Mary, I bet your glad the packing is all done. Now you can breathe a little easier. When will you see the boys again. I bet they've missed spending time with you. Enjoying some quite time here with all the grandkids gone. I do enjoy Maya being here. After having her here all these years she is just apart of are house. Kind of like she is are kid or a part of are life.

Val, Good to see your post. I hope with the medicine you will start feeling better now. Congrats on the sale!

Marisa, You've been pretty busy lately. It won't be long and the bridge project will be over.

Last week when doing are reunion cards up made me think of Julie. It would of been the week she goes to her family reunion. I wonder if she went. I sure do miss her!

DD and Maya's daddy(Bob) came up friday night and spent the weekend. They took the paddle boat out a couple of times. Bob and hubby went out yesterday morning.

We have new neighbors across the street. They have a girl a bit older than Maya. She had a friend over and they came over and fished off are dock (they had roller blades on to go fishing, I don't know how they kept from rolling right off into the water). They only caught babies and couldn't get them off so Maya recruited Grandma. They came back and went swimming with Maya saturday. The house was never for sale so us nor the neighbor next door to me knew they were moving now. There's three more places for sale on are street. On a lake there is always a turn over.

We went to my sister and bil's yesterday. My bil called and said they had raspberries ready and we could come and get them. I froze just over 2 full quart bags. I froze them first on a cookie sheet then bagged them up. I'm sure we will get some more if not now then in the fall. I want to make some freezer jam and a pie with them. Hopefully are's will do something.

My sister was doing a 3-D puzzle and she took it apart and let me bring it home to do. She wants to glue it when she puts it together. It a picture of fish. I have it half done.

I hope everyone has a good tuesday!
