It would be awesome if Leisure Arts picked it up and put it in their catalog!

I truly believe that Annie's Attic, Leisure Arts, etc. are regular visitors to C'ville. It helps them see what's out there and what people want. I think that's why AA brought back the Cathedral Window afghan and a magazine brought back Mary Card's (Laura Wilder version?) two-bird runner. We were all " ahhing and "oohing" both of those patterns. So maybe ...

Yuppers - you and me both.

It doesn't really matter if it's a good rule or not- we still still have to follow it.

The only problem is that so many people would like access to this pattern but in good conscience (and the rules) we cannot share.

From what I read on the site - and I'm paraphrasing - "I explained the pattern to my Mom and she found it in my Grandma's things" then this is not a pattern that can legally be shared here. :(

Have you tried emailing the person who put it up? I didn't look that deep into the site.

Another pattern that people have this same problem with is the Extra Easy Diamond pattern that yarncat makes. So many people want to pattern but the contract ran out with the publisher so now you have to try to track down the designer who probably has NO IDEA that so many people want to buy her pattern.

Speeking of the emblishments book I Looked at amazon again and I think it has changed in price. One even says $500 That one is just like some of the ones I have for the heart in 3 different leaflets too.

book

Found one on eBay awhile ago but the price is high too.

leaflet

I wonder if the one in the link posted got the idea from this one.

I can't beleive it's been this long since I also asked if anyone knew where this origonal heart wreath or doily pattern came from. I don't really need to know how to make my own etc., as I have done some from the picture very easily, but I still wish I knew where the origonal came from to be sure about the time it was first done etc. I have seen one very close done by Mary Buse Melick, and some others that seem to be out of print also which is very discouraging in trying to find it.

Not the same, but I think you could 'borrow' from other patterns to simulate the look of this gorgeous doily.

There is a open heart shape here that you could use as-is (might be a little small, it's about 5"), but it would be easy enough to enlarge it. You could also add a couple of rows to make it wider

http://www.freepatterns.com/search.html?criteria=heart+garland&mode=list&x=40&y=10

For the flowers, there are scads of similar rosettes & leaves in doily patterns and in the flowers page on CPC. Example, this doily has the roses and leaves

http://www.angelfire.com/folk/celtwich/RoseDoily2.html

Another rose with a more closed center

Here's something that might work for the flat flower, has 5 (not 4) petals

I'm sure there are other flower patterns that are closer to the pic, but that is just what I found in a couple of clicks.

edit - forgot to add - thanks for that link Birdlady!!

That is one of the most beautiful doilies I've ever seen! I would stop all projects to work on this one when it's found!

I found this site that has over 700 doily pattern links. Maybe a few C'ville members can help search through the list to see if this incredible doily is there: http://ketutar.wordpress.com/2007/07/11/doilies-2/.

In the meantime I am going to keep looking and will bookmark this thread to see if anyone has any luck!

WOWZEE!

I can't be sure about this, but that little symbol on the lower right hand side is seen on a lot of patterns for sale on e-bay......they do that to protect the photo from being copied and used..........I would try an e-bay search!

I figured that too so I've been looking there for months with no luck yet. Searched everywhich way for it there. Even have the search sent to me everday for months. It might be in a book that doesn't show up though.

I just finished going through that list. Found a lot of pretty patterns, but no double heart with flowers! :bang

Here's another list to go through:

There have been so many wonderful suggestions but all links have been checked and checked and checked by me.

I will eventually try to make something similar but my biggest curiousity is who the author of the pattern is and what book is it from? The mystery contiues- LOL :think

Thanks all for looking. I appreciate the help.:)

Has anyone been in touch with Dorothy? She states above that she HAS the pattern......surely she can tell you the name of the magazine it is in??!!?? Or perhaps she is willing to sell her copy. Still, it looks easy enough to make from parts of free patterns already available as Granny Square Points out.
