  1. Wow, that's practically perfect! Not too expensive, and VERY nice looking. I may simply adapt the pattern for the smaller guage (my g-ma lives in southern CA, so the heat is somewhat of an issue) and single strand it. Now to check my budget to see how soon I can get some! True, I don't consider my crochet work to be cheap. (my yarn, otoh, that's another matter!) I use bargain yarns and specialty yarns, but I happen to be quite disciplined in how I aportion my yarn budget. I know a lot of crafters get the cheapest materials possible so they can do more crafting, and for some reason, I have run into people who think that only crocheters do that! (The knit snobbery is especially odd. ) But no, I don't think we are cheap, I think we are PERCEIVED as cheap! Nothing on knitpicks..... (I can't access reverly on my networks) Those *are* nice yarns! Maybe for another project. Thanks for the help!
  2. Hullo! I realize that we crocheters have a tendency to be thought of as "cheap", so this may not be the place to find suggestions. Oh well! Anyhow, I need a worsted or aran weight yarn in a merino/silk/bamboo blend. yes, it can have SOME acrylic or nylon. My grandmother has very sensitive skin, so that's why I need the silk and bamboo. Needs to be in either a deep red, or cream/white/natural so I can dye it. TIA! Rach
  3. So glad you found your hook! Keep in mind that you can find just about anything online, although probably not vintage hooks. I keep eyeing that Threads by Lisa site, almost everything is Susan Bates and I *love* Susan Bates!
  4. Did you get mine yet? I just sent it on Wednesday, so you probably haven't.
  5. It's been sent! I hope it gets to you!
  6. I haven't sent it yet, I keep forgetting. Do you still need it or should I try to give it to someone else? I'm sorry!
  7. She did not ask me to post the pictures; I am just super please with how the squares turned out! These are both made from the same pattern, but with two different interpretations, if that makes sense! The first one is made in Peaches N Cream worsted weight cotton with a K hook. It is a washcloth that I will send in a shoebox for Operation Christmas Child. The second is made with Caron Simply Soft and an H hook for the Secret Comfortghan. I added 3 rounds of single crochet to bring the square up to 8", as my guage was a little tight. The blue is actually a bright purple! Thanks to SmoothFox for a LOVELY pattern!
  8. I wanna post a picture of the square I made, hmmkay? lol (It's from a pattern I tested for SmoothFox. )
  9. Some SUPER nice ones here: http://www.lullabiesandlace.com/freepatterns.html (Scroll down to Free Crochet Patterns for Play)
  10. Hey, Candy, I made a square today, now to get it mailed, maybe Friday? We'll see...
  11. Agreed, stealing is stealing, whether yarn or cars!
  12. Aww, Ninn, I'm so sorry! That's awful! Who would steal yarn? Thieves are horrible! :hug:hug:hug:hug
  13. Way cool! I think you could very easily sell the pattern!
  14. *blinks* Honestly, that sounds super weird to me. But I'm sure I can come up with a pattern, if I tried. Should I? Or shouldn't I?
  15. Possibly his girlfriend/wife (not sure), but the knitting is SO funny!

  17. I'm slightly depressed today, but I will get it done by the end of the week. Um. Pray for me?
  18. In that case, I will do mine in pink. I never have trouble with pink! I will be gone all day today (3 guesses where I will be, standing in line, wearing a red, white, and blue scarf! ), but I will try to get it done by the end of the week.
  19. No, THANK YOU for letting me! And thanks for not being mad about how long it took to upload the picture!
