stripey tote for swap pal

I had fun crocheting this easy bag for my spring secret pal:

 

 

 

I made this in Cascade Yarns Sierra (wool/cotton blend) in half double crochet. The construction was original: between the crocheted outer layer and the inner lining, plastic canvas is inserted to maintain the structure of the bag.

 

The pattern is from the book Cool Crochet by Melissa Leapman (great book, BTW: interesting, versatile, well-written patterns!)
