Sorry for the repeat update, but I can't restrain myself. The doctors just told Christie the results of the testing for Jordan's transplant...........wait for it.........................The grafting took 100%. Which means Jordan's body took the new stem cells 100%. Which means the transplant worked and is working. All we are waiting on is for her counts (blood cell count) to come up, the stomach infection to stop and for her to eat and she will be out of the hospital and maybe home!

Can't remember exactly, but if you click on the link that says Complete List under the smileys when you post something, it will pull up ALL the smileys we have here at Crochetville. That is one of them, just too big to have on the front page. :ducky

here is a quick update by jordan's dad ... he's busy at work today... i'm sure we'll hear more from her mother soon.

Thank you so much for the bear. Jordan named it Shelly. She is doing pretty good, right now her bones hurt because of the new bone morrow growing. Other than that, she is doing much better. They are waiting for the diarrhea to stop. Thanks for the prayers and thank you for the bear.

LOl!

That is typical guy. It's great to hear even a little snippit, especially since she's making good progress. <img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/bounce012.gif" />

another quick note from her dad:

Hello all, Jordan is doing fine right now. She is in a little pain because of the bone morrow growing, which is causing her bones to ache. All we are waiting for now is for her intestinal track to start functioning normally again and for her to be on a normal diet. We are hoping this will occur in the next two weeks. Hopefully, there will be no more set backs. As it stands right now, if she gets out of isolation next week then she is scheduled to come home the first part of December. But if there are any more set backs then she will have to stay in Fort Worth 100 days after she gets out of isolation. Her moral is down a little, but we're working on that, Thanks for all the prayers!

  • 2 weeks later...

(from her dad)

Hello all, Jordan says hi to everyone and she sends her love. She looks very good and her spirits are up. Her eye brows are growing back in very dark. Mom thinks that her hair will come in coal black. Jordan is scheduled to be discharged this Friday as long as she has no fever the rest of this week. She got a two hour pass to go trick-or-treating last night and had a blast. She lasted a whole hour and said she was tired and sleepy. She still made out like a bandit with the candy. Things are going well and she is excited about leaving the hospital. I don't think it has really set in yet because she is not bouncing off the walls. I'm sure when it gets closer to Friday she will be. That's all for now but more to come in the next few weeks. Thanks!

FYI,

I just want to add something. Billy mentions the fact that Jordan's eyebrows are coming in dark, and that her hair will likely be black. With Jordan's bone marrow transplant her "DNA" has actually changed from what she was born with, with the stem cell transplant, it has altered her DNA make-up. Doctors have told them that things like hair color, & eye color could change, but things like skin tone, physical features shouldn't change.

sounds like Jordan's on the road to recovery, but lets not stop continuing to pray for her progress just yet.
