A Few Things About Me

  • Real name
  • Ravelry ID
  • Short bio
Nothing too exciting here. I've been crocheting since I was about 12, and every so often take a long break from it. I always come back to it, though. When I'm not crocheting I'm usually playing a video game or listening to audio books or old-time radio shows.

I took a long break from Crochetville, and am looking forward to jumping back into the community. I have a beautiful little boy now who is the light of my life. :)

  • Crocheting since...
    Since around 1995 or so
  1. I do most of my crocheting in my living room, while watching tv and winding down for the night. I do prefer to sit on the floor rather than the couch, however, because that's where the space heater's at (I being warm).
  2. I'll jump in on this one. It's been awhile since I've completed an afghan, but I've got one on my hook right now. I've enjoyed looking at the photos in this thread so far.
  3. I haven't forgotten about this! We've only had our internet back for a short time, as we moved recently. I'll be trying to get the Washington ornament out to you soon.
  4. Like Linda said, the hole in the pearl would have to be big enough for the yarn to fit through. When crocheting with beads, you string the beads onto your yarn before you begin crocheting. Then you simply crochet them into your piece when you need them. At least, that's what I've done when I've used beads in my work.
  5. It's very pretty! I'm still deciding on what I want to do. I'm leaning towards a painted ornament rather than a crocheted one for this. We're in the process of buying a house right now, so at the moment a lot of my time has been spent packing. In a little over a week I should have my craft supplies all unpacked (hopefully), and be able to get mine made up.
  6. Sorry I'm so late to respond, it's been busy here lately and I haven't been on as much. I've got a package together. I'll try to get it out by early next week.
  7. My keys and my glasses. I tend to lose things anyway, since I'm not the most organized person, but those two things always seem to disappear the most.
  8. I like Cotton Tots and I Love This Cotton.
  9. I've got some things I made awhile ago and haven't really used that I can send you. Are ear warmers okay, or do you prefer hats?
  10. That's pretty cute. I don't know if I'd have the patience for it, since I don't particularly enjoy joining, but it does look gorgeous.
  11. Since she relisted it at the same price, I think she actually means the $1,250. It is a lot of stuff, but a lot of it looks like your basic acrylic, nothing special. I know shipping can get expensive, but an extra $1,000 to ship within the country seems pretty excessive. Maybe she really needs the money, I don't know, but I highly doubt she's going to find a buyer at that price.
  12. Your pictures very nearly made me cry, they were very touching. To everyone who participated, wonderful job.
  13. The majority of my crochet money goes to yarn. Occasionally I'll buy a new hook. I haven't bought a pattern in quite some time. I check at Big Lots and similar places to see if they have any. I cleaned them out of Lion Suede when they had it for $1.50 a ball.
