Potholders for my friend

I have a friend who's going to Mexico, she wanted to bring something for her host family, and asked me to make her some potholders. Here's the first pair. It's too bad I couldn't get the colours to come out right in the pic, because I used her request as an excuse to go out and get myself 10 different shades of blue and green cotton, and a lot of them are in there.

The pattern is *5 dc's, one hdc, 5 sc, one hdc*, and so on. But instead of opposing it on every row (Putting the dc's over the sc's), you do two rows the same way at a time. That gives the big wave effect.
