Crocheted Butterfly

Here is a butterfly that I just made...The pattern can be found in a book called "Decorating with Crochet" by Anne Halliday. I am not sure yet what I will do with it, I might mount it and frame it under glass and hang it on the wall or I can tack it onto a purse, pillow or T-shirt....What do you think? I guess it would be prettier in a variegated thread, but I only had white on hand....

Very nice! Variegated thread would look nice also. You could make a few of them in different colors and frame them. Or, your decorative pillow idea is nice too.

Pretty butterfly, Debbie!! I have a booklet with all butterflies and 'spring' things, it shows attaching a small thread to the top of the butterfly and hang it on a hook (suction cup thingy w/ a hook you put on your window). For decoration.

Anyway, it's really pretty and I like it in the white. :clap :clap

I like the window idea too, but it is rather floppy, like a doily....I would have to stiffen it with starch....It is stratigically pinned onto that fabric in the photo!:devil And it measures about 9" across and 7" high not including antennnea (is that the right plural form??)

Once again, thank you all for your kind comments and encouragement:hug

for anyone interested in making one.....while on line I found this site and this butterfly looks suspiciously like the one from the book I have, but well -the pattern is there if you want it.......
