Spongebob soap-on-a-rope

Finally a Christmas present finished. I made this up for my son-in-law's sister, who is obsessed with Spongebob. I wanted something small and useful. I made the top like a wristbag, so I guess it could also be a cell phone caddy.

Well now, I don't know, should I divulge????

What the hey! All I did was chain enough to be slightly smaller than the width of the soap, then single crocheted around and around, changing colors, till I got to the top of the bar of soap, then I decreased a little and made a strap on one side and a hole on the other. I could have a closer look and send you the actual pattern if you like....I know, sheer laziness on my part. PM me if you really want me to.

 

There is a pattern out there somewhere that my daughter made last year for a Spongebob purse...too cute, and rather like my creation now that I think about it.

I just love your little guy! My grandson has a Sponge Bob bathroom and that would go perfectly. I may give it a try. I just love all the ideas everyone comes up with! Thanks so much for sharing.
