Making things for my BFF to gift at baby showers is always fun.  She usually wants something different, unique.  This time, a passing idea I mentioned caught her fancy, and here's what resulted.  I fell in love with the Angel Heart Granny Square that a fellow 'ville-ian sent me over at the friendshipghan CAL.  I started gathering square patterns and, with the idea that I wanted to make a set in yellow, white, and gray, I got to work.  All are free patterns from Ravelry.  The accompanying dress is a paid pattern.  It's called Little Fan Christening Gown Set, and it's from Angel Knits (or I Believe in Angels). It's the last pattern on the first page.  I chose to do only one pattern repeat of fans to make short sleeves instead of long sleeves.  Instead of a bonnet, I made a headband called the Flower and Shells Headband.  After finishing the headband, I slipstitched two rows of elastic thread down the center of the headband.  Now it won't fall off!  I love that elastic thread.  I also got to use my Daisy Knitter to make the flowers for the dress and headband!  The new parents loved their gift :)
