Made this for my sister. She requested it after I made my niece (her daughter) one. I made up the pattern as I went. The purple and black one is my niece's and the blue one is my sisters.

Yeah. You could make a clasp if you wanted but this bag holds it shape pretty well. I still have to line the blue one. I have to get more thread for my sewing machine first.
