So, what are you working on today?

Recommended Posts

It's morning time at my house and I was just thinking of all the wonderful things I was going to make today :cloud9 Well at least I hope to make today!!!

So what is everyone working on? I know it's getting close to Christmas, are we rushing to finish gifts? :eek

I am going to finish a scarf for my daughter's teacher's husband (that is a mouthfull). He always helps out in the classroom, so why not! I made her a blanket (texas flag), her 4 year old the apple hat (which turned out GREAT) and then the scarf. Then...I'm going to make a scarf for a good friend who is on emergency leave right now. I'm going to use some ribbon yarn in these beautiful fall colors. I've never used that kind of yarn before, so I have my fingers crossed! :fc

Okay...rambling. It's 7:30 am and the kids are all ready for school!!! WHOO HOOO

Have a great day everyone.

Today I worked on finishing my winter swap pals' gifts so that I can get them in the mail Saturday. :clap I'm also working on a pillow for my Mother-in-law for Christmas. It's gorgeous but it taking a lot of time and patience to finish. I know that she will love it and that will make it worth the time I've spent on it. (I get along really well with my MIL. :blush )

I have a few other projects that I'm going to try to work on before bed tonight and then start rotating through them again tomorrow. (Thanks Beth for such a great idea on the rotation system!)

G'mornin =)

I can't believe it's already 10AM! I haven't accomplished a thing yet, other than putting away half a pot of coffee, reading my bloglist, posting on my blog and just started catching up here. In other words, stalling ;)

Let's see, on my crochet list for today...

Fun Fur scarf (Color is Hawaii, very spring like and good for a cloudy cold day!)

The Autumn Red scarf for my friend in the states.

More chapstick covers for the kid.

Nothing for the holiday, finished all that :clap All mailed off and received. :*ctree

I think I am going to sit down (ok I'm already sitting ;) :w-lol ) and make a list of things I want to make, that way instead of sitting there staring at my yarn wondering what to do next I can just grab something off the list.

Ya'll have a great day!

I have to finish SS (step sons) hat today (I doubt I will get scarf but he'll get an after christmas gift lol) and a snowflake and starch those darn things (the snowflakes not the step son!). My right hand is almost gone so I have had to shorten my list somewhat.

We all have to realize limitations right?

BUT in strife comes ideas and I am going to get one of those rubbermaid storage tubs and start working on next Christmas after the first of the year. When I finish a snowflake or a gift I will place it in the tub. Hopefully that will ease next Christmas' load a bit.

I'm feeling all kinds of ambitious today. I'll start with finishing off my X-mas buddy's gift, move on to my mother's afghan, then it's on to house cleaning and decorating! :*ctree I can't believe we have no Christmas decorations out yet. :*cgrinch

But I'm getting there... Last but not least I'll tackle the X-mas cards and back to Moms afghan. At least, that's what I hope will happen today. :fc

I just finished the last stocking for the library. After I'm finished catching up here, I have a couple of things to get ready to bring to the post office. Next, I'm going get the Christmas stuff from the attic so I can finally (hopefully) start decorating. :*ctree :*ccane :*ctree Then, if I have time before I need to go to work, I'll work on my nephew's gift. :*cgift

well, today i'm off to find one last thing for Beth's xmas gift then to ship it to her!!!:*chsanta I want to finish the strap on the shoulderbag I'm designing, do some finish work on my secret pal's gift, and get it shipped too. Then I have grocery shopping to do, bills to pay, and a checkbook to balance before I can work on the box stitch poncho I'm making for my family secret santa exchange. Not much in the way of crochet but this is gonna be a hectic weekend for me. Next week i hope to finish most of my holiday gifts which consist of the box stitch poncho, 3 box stitch scarves, a hat for my son, and a cocoon jacket for my mother-in-law which I haven't started yet. :ohdear

Hello all:bad

I'm finishing up a lacy poncho for my sister's co-worker that's about to leave on medical leave...I made it out of the berroco suede in the bright pink color...I love this stuff, wow expensive tho, but honestly worth it....

have to put the fringe on two ponchos (love that fringe:U ) and start/finish another lacy poncho (this time in woolease red-sprinkles) which will work up way faster...and since I"m going to NYC on Sat for the day with the fam, I'll let Keith drive and I can get a lot done during the ride...2 hrs each way...thank GOD for dvd players mmkay?:ducky

Already finished, tagged, laundered, packaged an order for one of my brother's co workers...gonna drop that off to him during his lunch hour today...

Next week I'm gonna devote to some quick xmas gifts (scarves and hats and little girl ponchos) and finishing up shawls that needs fringe...you know how I feel about fringe...then I can enjoy the rest of December, get ready for Spring, and hopefully get some designing done!

aren't you sorry you asked? :lol

:*chsanta I'm finishing up a few Christmas gifts; hats, scarves, mittens, etc. I finished all my Christmas shopping before Thanksgiving (except for a few things I got on ebay) because I don't like the crowds. Now I can enjoy the season and crochet to my hearts content. :heart

I envy you ladies!

I am at my day job so I won't be able to work on my project before tonight I'm afraid. Maybe a little at lunch...

That's probably why I am working on only one project right now.<img border=0 src="http://img28.photobucket.com/albums/v84/crochetville/blush.gif" /> It is a <a href="http://www.patonsyarns.com/pattern.php?PID=1309&PHPSESSID=3e33180b50b6821c378c98821ef2c033" target="_new">"hooded poncho to knit"</a> that I converted in crochet and I need to finish it ... It is coming along nicely; I am at the shoulders (working upward). I hope to finish it this weekend.

I still need to make a kid's poncho before Christmas for my future flower girl and my fiancé asked for a hat last night so here are my plans for the weekend.

As for crochet... I have yet to make a crocheted wire beaded necklace for my grandmother (a last-minute gift decision when she saw mine and started GUSHING over it... LOL!), and a water bottle holder for my FIL (have to go get a bottle so I can size it). I might make one for my MIL, too, if I can get a good deal on the bottles.

In the non-crochet department, I still have the pearl/rosequartz/sterling silver necklace to make for my grandmother (it's a jewlery christmas for her!). Everything else... I think... is done.

So, now I am actually able to work on a poncho for myself, which I plan on bringing with me during holiday travels... maybe I'll get it done at the in-laws' house so I can wear it in my mom's frigid house and keep warm. LOL!

If the weather would just sunny up and dry out a bit, I would take all the stuff I have done over to my favorite place outside to take pictures! But it won't... get... NICE! Gah!

DONE

- Caron Simply Soft wrap for my mom

- Lion Brand Homespun afghan for my brother's fiance

- LB Fun Fur scarves for sister and SIL

- Wool-Ease scarf for BIL

- many sets of beaded ornaments (mom, MIL, and random gifts)

- Necklace, earrings, bracelet set for SIL... pic: suebeedesigns.com/images/michele.jpg

- Necklace & earrings for MIL... pic: suebeedesigns.com/images/mom2-04.jpg

- embellished denim tote bags for my nieces

My husband is getting a few purchased gifts and the PARTS for a King Theoden costume (from Lord of the Rings), because I don't have time to make it before the holidays, and I am still missing a few pieces. He knows he's just getting a big box of fabric and trims with a pattern. LOL!

My brother is getting CDs. No one ever buys him CDs, so I am. :D!

I have also been busy making custom jewelry for customers sending gifts to OTHER people. It's -really- helped my holiday budget! I couldn't have bought the supplies for half the stuff above without my jewelry sales (link in sig)!

Have done a couple of rows on a dishcloth, and a little bit on dd's afghan. Need to do a lot more on it. :eek2

While sitting with my two youngest while they watch TV I think I'll work on the gifts for Sunday School teachers.

They're coasters and I have to put in the "ribbon" (chain stitch with a sparlkly red thread and gold lurex thread together) through the beading and tie the bows. And maybe do some more ch st ribbon!

Will do some more on the scarf I hope that dh can sell for me at his office. I'm hoping that one of the scientist guys he works with will realize that it's part of the solution to his "I haven't got her anything yet" or "I need to get something else" problem!

Of course, I have to do all the normal "mommy" stuff too, and do more Christmas decorating, and do a few cards even though I think I won't do the whole list this year..... :juggle

Off to cut up some apples for the young'uns!:)h

and what's for dinner, anyway??
