Materials:

Worsted weight cotton yarn
Size G hook (4.25mm)
Yarn needle (to weave in ends)

Finish Size: Both Dishcloths are 8”h x 8”w inches point to point

Version 1:

Note: I did change colors every row for the one pictured.

Directions:

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join with sl st to first sc.
(6sc)

Rnd 2: Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to first sc.
(12sc)

Rnd 3: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in next st, [1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] Do this 5 times, join with sl st to first sc.
(18sc)

Rnd 4: Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 5 times, join with sl st to first sc.
(24sc)

Rnd 5: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, ch2, 1 sc in same st, [skip next st, (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) all in next st] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(24sc, 12-ch2 spaces)

Rnd 6: Sl st in next ch2 space, ch1, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in same ch2 space, [skip next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(48sc, 12-ch2 spaces)

Rnd 7: Sl st in next st and in next ch2 space, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in same ch2 space, [skip next 4 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space] Do this 11 times, skip next 2 sts, join with sl st to first sc.
(48sc, 12-ch2 spaces)

Rnd 8: Sl st in next st, ch1, 1 sc in same st, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in next st, [skip next 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(72sc, 12-ch2 spaces)

Rnd 9: Sl st in next st, ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st, (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [skip next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, (1 sc, ch2, 1 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(72sc, 12-ch2 spaces)

Rnd 10: Sl st in next st, ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in next st, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [skip next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(96sc, 12-ch2 spaces)

Rnd 11: Sl st in next st, ch1, 1 sc in same st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, [skip next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts, (2 sc, ch2, 2 sc) all in next ch2 space, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sts] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(120sc, 12-ch2 spaces)

Finish off and weave in ends.

Version 2:

Rnd 1: Ch2, 6 sc in 2nd chain from hook, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 2: Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in each of the next 5 sts, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 3: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, 2 sc in next st, [1 sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] Do this 5 times, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 4: Ch1, 2 sc in same st as joining, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [2 sc in next st, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 5 times, join with sl st to first sc.

Rnd 5: Ch1, 1 sc in same st as joining, ch3, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in next chain, 1 sc in same st, [skip next st, 1 sc in next st, ch3, 1 sc in 2nd chain from hook, 1 sc in next chain, 1 sc in same st] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.

Note: A free loop is the loop left free from working in a chain. Like when you work stitches into a starting chain, on the side opposite of starting chain from where the stitches are worked there are loops.

Rnd 6: Sl st in next free loop, ch1, 1 sc in same free loop, 1 sc in next free loop, ch1, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts, [skip next 2 sts, 1 sc in each of the next 2 free loops, ch1, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.
(48sc, 12-ch1 spaces)

Rnd 7: Sl st in next st, ch1, 1 sc in same st, 3 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st, [skip next 2 sts, 1 sc in next st, 3 sc in next ch1 space, 1 sc in next st] Do this 11 times, skip next st, join with sl st to first sc.

Beautiful pattern. This will be the next dishcloth that I make. Thank you for sharing your gorgeous pattern. I can't wait to try it out after I finish the project that I'm working on now.
